…I hope you all got a good night’s sleep. I was keyed up all night and got a lot of housecleaning done after the announcement. However you voted, we should all be hopeful for the future. Isn’t it a blessing that we get a chance to wipe the slate clean every four years and try again?
So, with a shiny desk and lighter heart I have a question for you. Yeah, another one of those silly questions just to get a conversation going and learn a little more about each other. Here goes…
Of all the movie characters you have seen, which one do you believe is most like you?
Twenty years ago, I’d have answered instantly, “Private Benjamin.” Everyone who knew me thought of me as that clueless blonde soldier with the big wide eyes. And I have to own up to the fact that I was oblivious to so many dark and dangerous things going on around me that it was a pretty accurate comparison. I saw a movie recently that resonated with the current me. If you haven’t seen it and want to look inside a writer’s very strange mind, watch Emma Thompson in “Stranger than Fiction.” My daughter saw the movie first and made me order it. She told me, “Oh my God mom, she’s soooo you!”
I can’t wait to hear whom you choose!

I’m not really sure who to pick. I’ve never really felt any kind of resonance with a character in a film, though the portrayal of Elizabeth Bennett in A&E’s presentation of Pride and Prejudice had moments that I thought were similar to the way I am.

Elizabeth Bennett–nice choice, Karin! And it tell me a lot about you. :ohh:

Private Benjamin is one of my fave shows. I also like watching Wildcats with Goldie. It was on last night and if I had known before, I would have set for DVR.

Amy! You didn’t say who you’d be!!!

Hi Delilah. Oh this is a fun question! I don’t watch much movies at all. I should, I heard I’m missing alot of good ones. Did you see the movie OUTSIDER based on Penelope Williamson’s historical? It was on Showtime and they too put out in DVD. Wonderful movie. The heroine has a calm demeanor most of the time except when her emotions really build up. But also she stays so much with the rules if she can. Even more, she shys up with what she really feels, especially not around others. When I saw it, I just could see alof of my personality in her. Naomi Watts played the heroine. It didn’t hurt that Tim Daley played the hero (and too its a western historical). It may seem odd, but I connect myself within a couple of books, in parts, that were also historical too.
Loved this question!

Caffey! You and your westerns!
And the heroine sounds slightly passive aggressive. My sister and you have so much in common!! 😆
