Thought I’d share the cover that arrived in my inbox yesterday. Lockdown releases June 10th from Ellora’s Cave. This is what the story is about:
After surviving an attack by an inmate, prison corrections officer Gillian Priest arrives at her new unit, determined not to ever let her guard down again. Things get complicated when a handsome new prisoner enters her dreams and seduces her. When fellow officer Billy Hedron makes a pass, she’s already primed, ready to ease the arousal her sexy dreams have left with a more appropriate mate.
Billy Hedron knows his old marine buddy, Gabriel Vlahos, is posing as a prisoner to find a demon within the prison walls, and who better to hunt one than an incubus? When his buddy seduces Gillian in her dreams, Billy stands ready to serve the needs his friend stirs up in the attractive woman. But things take a deadly turn when the demon they seek decides it’s time to take them all to Hell.

Progress on Memphis Paranormal
My horoscope predicts one of those days when I just oughta turn off the computer and catch up on TIVO’d episodes of Primeval or Castle.
Decision making is tough today, and you are almost certainly torn between several alternate courses. It may be a good time to let go and let someone else call the shots for a bit.
I’m NEVER indecisive. So instead of letting that spook me, I choose to delete that prognostication and keep plowing through my WIP. Yesterday, I wrote 10 pages. Not the most I’ve ever done in a day, but considering I didn’t write that many last week, I’m very, very happy. I hope to do the same today and wrap up chapter six.
I’m still culling my spam folder for shiny golden nuggets. I had no less than three emails offering cheap colon cleanses. My favorite one was entitled “Max Colon” and promised to flush out excess pounds of poo from my colon. What do they know about me that I don’t?
But the best spam came from “Shawn C” entitled “A Seriously Insane Rich Guy”. The man can write a hook. He then goes on to tell me that he’s so crazy he’s going to share with me how he became seriously, insanely rich. I can’t tell you how tempted I was to click on the link, but then I got to thinking, “If I do, will he write me again?”
Last week was pretty much a bust, writing-wise. I couldn’t get my ass in gear. Might have had something to do with taking on babysitting duties for two days and letting a certain 4-year-old wangle her way into spending two nights with me. Having little ones underfoot really saps the energy.
This week, I have the same obstacles, but I’m getting into a routine and figuring out when I can write. So, I’m not giving myself a break. No excuses, I have to make progress on the Memphis paranormal, and I have a short novella to revise and get out the door.
The novella is a special project for my Arkansas RWA chapter. We challenged each other last year to write Arkansas-based stories and submit them to a publisher for consideration as a series. Some of the authors involved are published, some aren’t, so there was some extra work involved getting everyone’s ready to submit. Hopefully, we will all meet with success. My story needs some major work. Because I can’t write it as hot as I like, I feel hamstrung. Have to go back in and tinker some, and just plain get over being grumpy about it. 😆
Progress on Memphis paranormal
I opened my email today and found two interesting entries. The first was my daily horoscope.
If you’re not totally sure that something new is right for you, say no and walk away quickly. Even if it turns out well, the risk isn’t worth it—not at this point in your career!
Hmmm…to an Ado Annie like me, “no” is a foreign word. Maybe I just won’t answer the phone.
The second was an email entitled “Complimentary Colon Cleanse”. I mean, really, would anyone respond favorably to an email with that title? Would they wake up and say, “Today, I need a colon cleanse! How lucky am I that someone wants my credit card number to send me one?!”
As you may have guessed, I couldn’t think of a thing to talk about this morning. I’m amazed at Saddled’s success. Over a month later it’s still on MBaM’s top ten, and the past few days it’s been #1 at Fictionwise. Woohoo!
And thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat last night at Fallen Angels Reviews. Samantha Sommersby, Niki Green, Masha Holl and Shayla Kersten were there with me. “Caffey” won the drawing.
I’m new to Facebook, so I’m not sure how to do this. But if you’re on Facebook, “friend me” or whatever it is you call it on FB.
Here’s my profile page: Delilah’s Facebook Page
Gotta brag a little. Okay, a lot. I earned it.
Seems my sexy little threesome was a hit! It stayed for almost two weeks in MBaM’s #1 spot, and it’s stayed in the Top 10 for over a month. Today, it’s at #9 and likely to fall away into oblivion, so I thought I’d share some of the nice things reviewers have been saying.
5 Stars and an orgasmic “O” from Tallyn at Just Erotic Romance Reviews: “I couldn’t put this story down! It was danger, betrayal, sexy and fun all rolled together into the perfect erotic romance. The plot was brilliant, and the characters unique…The sexual scenes will make you clamp your knees together and dream of a sexy cowboy or two of your own…This is a great story, but a word of caution—don’t start it unless you have time to finish it—you won’t want to put it down.”
5 Stars from Heather at Vixen Reviews: “…The chemistry and interaction between the three of them is well written and keeps you chuckling and turns you on… The plot of the story moves quickly and leaves you satisfied. The sex is hot and makes you want to be the filling to a man sandwich…Saddled is heart-stopping and fascinating!!!!!!!”
4.5 Stars from Kimberley at eCataRomance: “…Delilah Devlin is a true master in the erotic romance genre. Her stories are sexy and sensual with a passion that is breath taking. Saddled is a beautiful story that will get the blood pumping. This sizzler is a must purchase story…”
4.5 Blue Ribbons from Chrissy at Romance Junkies: “…Delilah Devlin’s storylines never fail to pull readers into the story and SADDLED is no exception. Bobby and Cale have very different personalities and expectations so it’s extremely interesting how they respond both individually and together toward Kate. Kate displays a vulnerability and honesty that really drew me to her. Of course the sex scenes are scorching and adventurous with the perfect blend of emotional turmoil to ensure readers keep Ms. Devlin’s name at the top of their ‘must read’ list.”
