Slave of Desire released in November 2003 and was my chance to visit one of my favorite fantasies—an Arabian nights-style planet complete with an auction. It was also like the second or third book I ever wrote. Throw in a little voyeurism, a little f/f, f/m/f, and a few other nasty little kinks and there you have it!

After a fellow convict is murdered while she’s guarding the maximum-security cellblock, ex-con Calandra Jones escapes the ship of the pirates who liberated the convicts, determined to make it on her own. Just as she’s attempting to arrange passage on another ship headed for a mining colony, she’s abducted by a handsome slave trader bent on offering her for sale at a potentate’s auction.
Drago Chavez doesn’t understand Calandra’s opposition to his plan. As a concubine or wife to a powerful man, she would be pampered and influential. No woman he’s ever placed has complained about being sold into the arms of a caring owner. Besides, his acquisition of the rebellious beauty is his entrée into a lucrative and exclusive market.
Calandra considers Drago’s goal nothing short of sexual slavery and vows to seduce the trader into changing his mind about offering her for sale. A sensual storm erupts during their desert odyssey that culminates when Calandra is sold, and Drago must decide whether he trusts their love enough to rescue his Slave of Desire.

When Calandra passed him on her way to the pool, Drago expected she would fling herself down beside the water to drink her fill, and perhaps wash her exposed skin with handfuls of water. The pool offered little privacy. When night fell, he planned to accompany her at her bath.
But at the water’s edge, Calandra leapt from the back of her steed and stripped.
Drago halted, ensuring the men behind him also stopped. The kafhet landed at her feet, and the reclamation suit puddled on top. Pink buttocks jiggled as she ran into the water.
“Ahfalla!” Kaspar exclaimed. “She will make us very rich men.”
Drago shot him a searing glance, but Kaspar’s gaze remained pinned to the woman.
Drago turned at Calandra’s glad cry. She ducked beneath the water, then rose and shook her head like a dog, shedding water in an arc and causing her breasts to bob on the surface of the water.
The woman had no inhibitions—or she was deliberately taunting them.
