Playlist for Trip
Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Before I got on the plane to Canada, I added music to my iPod. Sasha and I have very different tastes in music, except for songs she calls “Cock Rock”—music to you-know-what by. And I knew I’d want something of my own to plug in because we’d be stuck in a car for hours and hours and there’s only so much Nickelback I stand. 🙂

My last minute adds were:
Indestructible by Disturbed
Hard to See by Five Finger Death Punch
I Stand Alone by Godsmack
Be OK by Ingrid Michaelson (sometimes I just need a bubbly voice)

During our first day’s drive, Sasha stuck a CD in the player that she’d made from her iPod downloads of her latest “Cock Rock” adds. There were several I hadn’t heard before, and I loved them. They are of course completely inappropriate to play in public, but that’s why I dig them. So first time we stopped for the night, I had to add them too:

Addicted by Saving Abel
Use Me by Hinder
Satisfied by Social Code

And because iTunes recommended it on the same page, I tried Dead Memories by Slipknot and added it immediately. It’s my new favorite song.

What have you been listening to lately? Dont’ be ashamed to say Sinatra (I have him on vinyl) or Nickelback (I have two songs of theirs on my iPod that I can tolerate).

I also love Desturbs Indestructable and songs like “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor” Three days Grace, and Gangster’s Paradise 😈

But I also enjoy musicians like Simon and Garfunkel, Journey, Creedance Clear water, and the Eagles 😀

Well T downloaded the newest Eminem cd which isn’t bad. I ended up adding a few to my iPod with my favorite being Love The Way You Lie.

I’m finally weeding out the Glee soundtrack. Got most of it on daughter’s iPod so I don’t have to hear it ALL of the time when we’re in the car.

I’ve also been listening to Lady Antebellum lately.

Wesley! I have Bodies and Several Three Days Grace songs too! My daughter swiped CCR’s greatest hits from me, so I need to buy another copy. Love it! And I’ll admit to having Eagles on vinyl too!

Brandy! I just downloaded Eminem’s latest with Rhianna! And don’t you love Glee?

Hey! Just because you heard a couple of burned CD’s of mine doesn’t mean thats ALL I have. I really wish we’d been able to play my iPod too. *pout* I have over 800 songs on it, and trust me, not even 5% of them are Nickleback. LOL

Although not sure if you’d enjoy my Michael Jackson songs, or Bon Jovi. I think you’d enjoy the Aerosmith and I know you’d like my ZZ Top collection. 😉

*We couldn’t play my iPod because the car attachment thingy didn’t like my iPod touch, it only liked Delilah’s Nano*

Oh see! I love Three Days Grace, and CCR too! Notice you didn’t have any of those on your iPod though. 🙄

Right now I’m listening to Shinedown, David Bowie, Evanescense and Muse…strange combination I know, but it works.

Sasha! i’ve got tons of CDs but until I bought that external CD drive right before my trip, I didn’t have any way to load them into my iPod. I will however. Have tons of Disturbed to put in there. Will have to “borrow” back my CCR CD! 🙂

Valerie! I’ve never heard of Nightwish—but now I’ll have to go sample their music!

Right now I am into Lady Antebellum, William’s Riley Band, & my son’s Eminen & B.O.B CD’s. I kind of like all kinds of music except the screaming crap. LOL. 😉

Yes I do love Glee but at some point my ears need a break. You must remember pre-teen girl discovering what she likes. That’s where I am with Tylar. She really likes Colbie Caillat and Vanessa Carlton.

These days I listen mostly to country music. I love Taylor Swift,Miranda Lambert,Trace Adkins to name a few. If I listen to rock I prefer music from the 80’s and 90’s. When I’m tired but can’t go to sleep I will listen to the Bee Gees. It totally relaxes me and after a few songs I’m out cold.

Savonna! I love mixing it up too. Had an urge to hear Natalie Maines the other night and downloaded the Dixie Chix’s Earl Has to Die.

Sue! Screaming crap!? Say it isn’t so. I love the heavy metal when I’m driving. Yeah, I’m that driver.

Brandy! Yes, the 6-year-old has decided she’s going to be on American Idol. She sings morning, noon and night. Haven’t had the heart to tell her she’s tone deaf.

Sherry! There’s very little Country I can listen to. I like Natalie Maines’s voice. I’ll listen to some Keith Urban because he’s so damn hot. I do however love to listen to old Hank Williams. I’m So Lonesome I Could Die is the most heart-wrenching song when you hear him sing it.

I was initiated to this amazing independent group by a friend who burned me a copy and mailed it to me so I would listen to them. I was hooked with the first song. A little dark, a little violent and with a beat that is incredible. The videos I’ve viewed-the guys are hot too. That would be a nice twist to one of your books……. anyway the group is Zug Izland-my two favorite songs-Always and Dreaming.
