NaNo Day 4:
Viking-2—2141 words
GWB-Me—729 words
Since NaNo started on Monday, I’ve had my head down, hammering away at the keyboard. I’m making great headway on the Viking book. Finally had a few lightbulb moments which helped me figure out what was missing in that baggy, saggy middle of the story. I’m halfway through my short story, which hopefully will be included in the Girls Who Bite anthology—oh, wait! I’m choosing the stories for that book. Guess I shouldn’t sweat it.
Yesterday, I wrote all my pages then did some research on ancient Scythia for the other novella I have to start this weekend. Busy, busy me. Hope all you NaNo’ers are making great progress too. And for you readers, I love you! Thanks so much for making this an awesome year for me.
So, onto the question…
If, instead of actually writing out your name, you now had to “sign” your name with a simple drawing of something, what would you draw each time to represent who you are?

A tiger. I have always felt that it was my totem. According to one website this is what a tiger totem carries.
Passion, Power, Devotion
The Tiger is the symbol of darkness and the new Moon.

Brandy! I like that!
A little over a year ago, I had my totems “read”. I was a little disappointed when I was told that my Above totem (which represents my connection to the Universe) was a magpie/crow. Until I was told that magpies represent intelligence, familiars, and occult knowledge.
Hmmm…that sounded more like it. Magpies have the ability to open up the doorways to the Spirit and Fairy Realms, and have been familiars to witches, and if you have one as a totem, it might have been your familiar in a past life.

Very cool, Delilah.
I think I would like a dragon. I love them and have a bunch of dragon statues around the house.

That’s pretty cool. Your magpie must be what guides you in some of your writing. Allows your mind to conjure magical worlds and creatures.
I’ve always been drawn to tigers which is why I picked it. I might be devastated to find out what my totem really is. Maybe one day I’ll get it done.

If I could draw it where people could tell what it was I would choose a wolf. I love them and have all kinds of pictures and wolf figurines plus I have two wolf tattoos.

A flower with many petals to represent my many layers 🙂

Valerie! I LOVE dragons. Have a collection going in my office of dragon figurines and toys. Plus a couple of water colors a friend painted for me.
Brandy! If you feel a strong connection, I wouldn’t bother getting anyone else to tell you. You’ve found yours.
Sherry! You must share pics of those tattoos! 😉
Miranda! Lovely! Any particular flower?

An owl: a creature of the night & hopefully wise.

I’d use a hummingbird. They’re small but mighty.

I use to be part of a historical re-enactment group (middle ages & renaissance). My “device”, and the image I still think of as me I a blue rose bud. This is so much me that a couple of years ago I had a tattoo of it (cobalt blue btw) put on my back. And I am not a tattoo type of girl. This is just me.

Tuberose is the first flower that comes to mind.

All my family say I am nothing but a devourer of books so the one thing anyone thinking of me would associate with me is a book. So that would be my picture sign (maybe an open one with a dragon on the cover if I was artistic enough 😉 ).

Ladies, I love your answer! Now, Ilona, the right answer would have been a book, with a Viking on the cover it! 🙂
I love dragons too!

Of course mine would be a cat. Delilah if I could draw a viking I would use that. Probably wouldn’t look nothing like a viking. LOL.
