I have to confess. I am a hopeful romantic. I believe that love can conquer all. Even an Aztec demi-goddess like the one that terrorizes the hero and heroine and assorted others in a Mexican jungle in AZTEC GOLD.
The AZTEC GOLD novella was influenced by a business trip that I took to Mexico several years ago. I was able to visit some Mexican pyramids and learned about how the indigenous people in that area lived. You can see some photos from my trip and also find out about my fear of heights, as well as my climb to the top of the pyramid, by visiting the Carina blog
I also was able to read up on the gods and goddesses of the Aztecs and their way of life. All of those things inspired me to write not only AZTEC GOLD, but THE FIFTH KINGDOM, a romantic suspense that comes out from Carina Press in July 2012.
But what was even more fun was including some of my favorite things and hopefully some of yours. A strong heroine, although Cynthia has a fear of adventure (kind of like my fear of heights). A very alpha action-adventure guy in Rafael, Cynthia’s ex-love who had gone missing in the jungle thanks to the actions of that bad ass Aztec demi-goddess.
And even though Cynthia and Rafe have their issues, and have to stay alive somehow in a creepy Mexican temple, love does conquer all.
Thanks for taking the time to drop by! I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day.
We have a little bit of a surprise giveaway today since I was lucky enough to get some early copies of THE LOST, the next book in the SINS series which will be out in August.
Leave a comment and you could win a copy!

I fell in love with Mexico and its people. So lovely despite all the bad press coming from the problems along the border with the drug cartels. The food is amazing! I was lucky enough on another trip to go to Tequila and Mundo Cuervo. The Jose Cuervo people have a lovely museum there and also take you through the plant to see how tequila is made. Lots of fun.
THE LOST is an expansion of the SINS series into the SIN HUNTER series. The premise is that a unique race descends on the Jersey Shore – a race of energy gatherers. I hope you guys will like all the books. 🙂

I am eagerly awaiting the release of The Lost. I have enjoyed the Sin books very much so this is sure to be a great book. I would love to read Aztec Gold but I don’t have a reader and can’t sit at the computer long enough at at time to enjoy it. 🙁 Have a great day and hugs to all.

Like Fannie, I have greatly enjoyed the Sin books and am looking forward to the Aztec. My mother-in-law lives in southern Texas and we enjoy visiting and eating ‘over the border’. This is the first year that we were uneasy enough that we didn’t go.

I always enjoy your books and I would love to read The Lost. I’ve only been to the border of Mexico so I really didn’t get to see much of anything. My daughter has been to some ruins though.

I too have a fear of heights, which my family tortures me with periodically. This last weekend – parasailing! Though I did survive, it took me a few hours to stop my legs from shaking afterwards!
Sounds like a great book!

Thank you all for dropping by. My fear of heights is so bad that even just a few feet in the air, like on a step stool, are torture. The worst part is that I love to travel and have to fly. A nerve-wracking experience for sure.
So glad you are all liking the SINS series so much. Thank you! 😀

I also have a fear of heights; when watching TV if the scene is done from a high rise apartment I get the woollies. Going on bridges is not easy; I end up turned towards the driver and trying not to look and talking to distract myself all at the same time.

I’m not a fan of heights myself–there’s a photo of my sister and me by a fenced cliffside when we were sightseeing as kids, and even then, I was squeezing her as tight as could be! Lost sounds like a great new addition to your series!

Thank you all for the kind comments about the books. The drug stuff in Mexico is a little scary for me as well. I really feel for those people living in Cuidad Juarez who have constant violence. I understand it’s almost becoming a ghost town. I hope you get to visit one day. I’d like to go back and go to Chichen Itza and some of the other temples. Good luck to you all in the contest! I’ll be back later. 🙂

Aztec Gold looks like another great book, Caridad. For sure on my list! How awesome to be able to visit the places that you use for your books.
I finished Stronger Than Sin today and it was a good thing I was home alone, because I yelled at the end. LOL What a tease!!!
I can’t wait for the next two Sins books. They can’t come quick enough for me!

OMG! Caridad has been on my wish list for about a year. I was just looking up a couple of her books on Amazon. I would love to win this. My fingers are crossed. Of course, it means my TBR pile would have to be reorganized. But I think I could suffer that if I won!
