Sisters

ElleDelilahgrowingupI consider myself lucky to have two brothers and one sister. We were a family of four children growing up with one to two years between. This was a good thing since my father was in the military and we moved around a lot. We were our own friends, playmates and nemeses depending on the day. Our lives were never boring, often exciting and always filled with those love/hate relationships you get with siblings. But if anyone got in trouble, we went to bat for each other. I looked up to my sister, Delilah Devlin. She was always smarter, prettier and knew where to go to get into trouble or up the ante on the fun-factor. She was a tough act to follow in school, but I tried to live up to her academic standards.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs we grew older, she went into the army leaving me behind to finish school. We drifted apart and lived our own separate lives until she went to work for the same company I worked for in the same city. Then she discovered a local writing group and once again, she led me into an adventure that would change my life forever.

We set off on the writing journey together, challenging each other to start a book, encouraging one another to finish. As our passion for writing blossom, our relationship grew closer. Now, there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of my sister and all that she means to me.  I can’t think of anyone I’d rather be with on this particular journey. I guess I just dedicated this blog to my sister. Love you, Delilah!

    No sisters, only 2 brothers!!
But I do have 2 female cousins who are like sisters to me – one is 6 months older and the other 11 months younger, so in some ways we are like triplet sisters 🙂

Love the sound of Voodoo for two – can’t wait to read it!

I have a younger half brother from my mom and a couple years ago discovered that my bio father had three kids as well. So I got to add two sisters and another brother…all younger than me. Unfortunately, my youngest brother was killed at 19 before I could meet him. I’m 36, so finding out you have three other siblings only a couple years ago, was a shock. Thanks for sharing your sister Delilah. Can’t wait to read Elle’s book.

I am the oldest of 6, 5 girls and 1 boy. The 3 youngest are half-siblings, but in our family that was never something we thought about. They are my sisters and brother, my siblings. As the oldest, I was the one who was “in charge” and held responsible for any and all umm… let’s call them shenanigans. 🙂 My sisters are my best friends and worst enemies (sometimes both at the same time), but I couldn’t imagine life without them.

I, too, am a military brat ( Daddy was career Marine). I have 2 older brothers, whom I adore! I am the baby of the family. By the time I was in 5th grade my oldest brother was in the Navy and other brother was a senior in high school. So I didn’t have the same type of support with my siblings that you had. But I did have wonderful protectors – even if they thought I was a “bratty” baby sister. My brothers have settled on both Coasts, one in the state of New York the other in Washington state. I ended up in my Daddy’s home state of TEXAS! We don’t get to see each other as much as we would like…but I am truly grateful to God for these 2 wonderful men I have the honor of calling my Big Brothers. 😛

Thanks for the chance to win the wonderful prizes!

I would cheerful try to rip off my older brother’s face when I was a kid (not sure why any more), but if anyone else messed with him….. I also have a 7 1/2 year younger brother and a 10 year younger sister who I had a much better relationship with. My mother once made a comment about being competitive with them. How? With that kind of age difference I was past anything like that by the time they became adults and could “compete’ with me.

As the oldest (I have 1 brother and 2 sisters) and the only one of us to have children ( my children adore each other…they are grown now…the ‘baby’ is a freshman in college and 18) …we have sadly grown apart over the years not due to me( maybe due to the fact I’m the only 1 who has had children) ❗ . But I’d love to win!!!

I also was a military brat and was the oldest of 7, 2 girls and 5 brothers,we seemed to move every year so as kids we were really close, now we live all over the country and sadly only see each other maybe once every 5 or 6 years because everyone either has kids or grandkids of both and living all over the US its hard to get together.I think its fantastic that you and Delilah are so close and whats really incredible to me is that you both write hot romance books (though Delilah is riskier in her steamy scenes)makes you wonder if she was the one that got in trouble more than you did LOL ,it was great hearing some background about both of you,its always nice to know something about an author because they can really surprise you sometimes, you have an idea in your head but the reality is not always what you thought.I think tho Im not 100% sure that Delilah will be in KC this week for the romance signing and if so I want to meet her and Ill look for you too in case you are there, that will be a lot of fun.
