Contest Reminder…and a Question…
Sunday, November 24th, 2013

First, I have to brag. This was a momentous week for the Devlin house. From the USA Today Bestseller’s List:

USA

Nuff, said, right? Whee!

Company left early this morning. We celebrated Thanksgiving early because this past weekend was the only time all the siblings’ schedules matched.  It was a lovely weekend. Lots of gossiping to catch up on. Tons of laughter. Now, it’s back to my writing cave.

This is the last week of NaNoWriMo and I have some catching up to do. I think I’ll make it. I just have to be in “writer-mode”—head down, fingers flying on the keys. I removed my solar nails so I can type faster. 🙂

Yes, November’s nearly gone, which means November’s prize will be awarded next weekend. Be sure to comment as often as you can this coming week to add more chances to win the Amazon gift card!

And to give you something to comment on, and for us to learn a little bit more about you, here’s a question…

In your opinion, what is the most beautiful foreign language to hear spoken?

Hmmmm… I think it more depends on the voice/tone of the person speaking the language and what is being said, than the actual language. Now, granted, some languages have some rather harsh sounds – German, Russian, etc… The romance languages are labeled that for a reason – because they can be soft, flowing & melodic (Italian, French). I think that my favorite language I like to hear spoken is English, when The Man or one of the Spawn tell me that they love me 😆

Irish, I love the sound, the burl of the rrrs and the lyrical tone. Simply love it. I guess Scottish would be next because it is similar to the Irish. The sounds are similar.

I like hearing the Arabic and French spoken in Morocco. So exotic.

My son’s father and I met at work. He used to sidle up next to me and tell me goodness only knows what, but he said it in Spanish and my heart just melted. I love all the romance languages but because the only man I will ever love spoke Spanish, it has to top my list.

Not necessarily a foreign language but sure do love to listen to an Irish or highland brogue 🙂

Its a tie between french and gaelic, french flows so easily and it is one of the romance languages and everything sounds so romantic and gaelic because its kinda exotic being its not spoken very often in the countries it originated in

French, French, everywhere. And I so understand that. I love how lyrical it is. Very lovely. Italian is a hint more masculine. I love hearing both sexes speaking French, but I adore listening to a man with Scottish accent. I also love hearing Arabic, or at least Eqyptians speaking it…

Any romance language sounds good to me. If we’re talking accent British or Irish.

I love listening to French…although I am still struggling to learn how to interpret it! Congrats on the success of Uniform Desires (which is on my TBR mountain as well, lol).
