I’m babysitting again today. So my online chatter will be to a minimum. I’ll try to fit in some new words on my current manuscript, but there’s no guarantee the 5-year old or 11-month-old will cooperate. So, I’m heading to the pages before I go to my dd’s house. I cannot wait for school to begin. Pre-school and daycare kick in at the same time in our small town. I won’t know what to do with myself with so much free time. Oh yeah…I’ll write!
For now, here’s a question for you…
If a master carpenter offered to make you a piece of furniture
for your home, what would you choose?
For me, it would be a built-in desk with bookshelves that wrapped around my office walls. Something to better utilize the space I have and make it prettier.

Bookshelves. Definitely bookshelves. In every room, to wrap around other furniture and maximize space, and maybe include some built-ins. Floor-to-ceiling slide-out bookshelves so we can have books 2 and 3-layers deep.

A headboard wall unit where I can put books I’m reading on and have an outlet for my phone and tablet

I like your idea. For my room it would be perfect.

First thought was a bedroom suite, then I thought no, new kitchen cabinets. lol I keep waffling between a beautiful Master bedroom suite and new kitchen cabinets.. 🙂

I love the bookshelf idea but what I would go for is a lovely reading chair that I can sit in all day without getting uncomfortable.

More cabinets in the kitchen. I would love to have more storage space. Furniture would be nice, but cabinets…oh, I wants some cabinets.

Well gee! My first thought “cat run around the apartment” and I thought I was good. Then I thought, “No! I need a new chair. This one is falling apart.” Then I read what some of the others mentioned, and remembered my headboard is in pieces. So now my thought is, can I keep this master carpenter? I have a huge list of honey dos.

A reading nook is what I really want. A place to lay down or sit up and read. Lots of pillows, lighting, and nooks for books, a cat or two, my coffee or tea. But I need a headboard as well; nothing fancy, just a headboard. I’d take dibs on the carpenter as well, I would even share my reading nook too.

I too have always wanted built in bookshelves, but I want the room to be have a deep window seat that faces southeast with book shelves that take up both walls that border the window seat.
Since this is my dream room, I also want a over sized chair with an ottoman with a side table and the best reading lamp money can buy, and while I’m at it, a Bose radio system with surround sound. 😀

You know when I read your wish lists, I’m imagining your comfy homes. It’s nice. And it looks like lots of us dream of more storage. Do we really need all this stuff? (Says the woman who just bought Chuckie and Bride of Chuckie dolls for her office!)

A nice new closet. My old one is so small. Built in shelves and a nice big shoe rack. I have way too many shoes.
