Watch where your gutter-mind is goin’! 🙂
I’m on the road today, heading to Dallas with my dd, to pick up the 10-year-old who has been spending a month with her daddy in San Antonio. So I’ll be stuck in a car for the nine-hour round trip. Any suggestions for things we can do on our trip that will help us while away the hours? Dream up the usuals, but have some fun with your suggestions, too! I’ll give away a $5 Amazon gift card for the “best” suggestion.

Hmmm, reading if kid is game, road trip games, music and sing louder than the player or movie if you have one of those movie thingy in your car.

Pick a car going by and if you can see the people inside, create a ridiculously dramatic/comedic story and pass it back and forth… You’ll start then your dd picks up and so forth…

If I have my grandson with me for a lengthy trip, we play I spy but you have to be quick when driving. Lol

Do word game with the letters of license plates on the road.

Have a list of all the states and see if you can see license plates from all the states on the list as you are driving.

LISTEN TO AN AUDIO BOOK, THEN WHILE LISTENING, PICK A WORD, SEE IF YOU CAN FIND THAT WORD ON A BILLBOARD, LICENSE TAG ETC. GIVE A TIME LIMIT, PERSON WHO FINDS IT FIRST PICKS THE NEXT WORD IN THE BOOK YOUR LISTENING TOO FOR THE NEXT ONE TO FIND. MAKE IT INTERESTING AND FUN.

IF YOU HAVE A PORTABLE DVD PLAYER, PUT ON SOME GOOD MOVIES ON, POP IN A FEW GOOD CDS IN THE RADIO AND PLAY THE SIGN GAME, WHILE YOU ON THE ROAD 😉 🙂 😛

My mom and dad and siblings and I would go on long car trips and read all the highway signs backwards to see what what’s the silliest. Try reading Cincinnati Ohio backwards and see how much you laugh!

As you go by people act like you are picking your nose and watch their reaction!!! Don’t forget to act like you might eat it!! This is priceless!!!

I love to read road signs! And if I find any that can be made dirty, I go for it. And if the kids aren’t in the car, I end up practicing my dirty talk. But, you must incorporate the road signs into the dirty talk. Some of the results are hysterical!

Do you have a travel boggle or scrabble game. You can pass it around and make up silly words to see who can get the goofiest one.
DVD’s are always good, but not so much for the driver.
I love to sleep in the car 😉 I’ve been doing that since I was a baby & it hasn’t changed all these years later. 😆

My dad would always have us look for a purple car with pink pokadots. So maybe find the cars with the most unique colors.

Word association games are always fun. Gets everyone involved.

What I ended up doing to entertain my daughter who was driving was looking at one of the those entertainment news sites that writes articles like, “Ten Stars Who Are Horrible People.” Kel and I are now educated as to who has had the worst plastic surgery, who is the most disgusting, who has had the most tragic past, etc. Since we love entertainment gossip, we whiled away hours!
But I do appreciate the suggestions. As we have another road trip coming up on Tuesday, we will give some of these a try!
