UPDATE: The winner of the free download is…Laura!

TheRunawayBride_600

I’ll admit it. I’m shallow. Show me warm colors and a pretty man holding a whip and wearing a cowboy hat, and I melt like butter. So when I found this photo, I had to have it for the cover of the short story I’m releasing this coming Friday (or sooner, depending on Amazon—I’ll let you know).

I know what The Runaway Bride is all about, but I’d love to hear what story this picture tells you. Doesn’t have to be a story. It can be one scene. It can be a line of whatever she’s telling him as he gives her a hard or hot stare. It’s your story. Have fun.

And if you decide to play, there’s a reward—for one lucky person, anyway. I’ll give the winner a free copy of The Runaway Bride

Cowboy: Why do you run? Let’s see if I came tame that right out of you…
RB: I don’t want or need to be tamed!
Cowboy: Awww that’s to bad darling, I have you tied down, right tight. 😉

This picture makes me feel really bad for the girl. A fully dressed cowboy with a whip staring at a nude woman. Not good. I feel like he is going to rape her or something like that. At first I thought he already did but she wouldn’t be laying there so calmly if he had.

All in all, this is a turn off for me and I wouldn’t pick up the book.

To each his own, Jo-Anne… I love this cover and I think she is saying something like what are you waiting for, come and get it!

This was a great short story!

A turn off? Rape? Obviously Jo Ann you don’t relate the covers to the stories inside. This is a totally awesome. Even if Delilah hadn’t written it, I would buy it simply because I LOVE the cover and the cowboy. And the naked woman knows exactly what she’s doing and she’s gonna love every minute of it. My Lord, it’s fiction….F I C T I O N.

This is how I think it would go…..

Woman: I’ve waited a long time for you to realize that I’m all grown up and ready to handle whatever you dish out. I’m a big girl now and I know what I want and I want you to give it to me.

Cowboy: I’ve always known what you wanted honey, but be very sure before we start. Because once I have my hands on you, there’s no going back. You will be mine until I take my last breath.

But then, that’s why Delilah is the writer and I’m the reader. 😆

The cover of a book is something that draws the eye, for most people, me included it the first glace & impression that makes me pick up the book, or makes me read the online blurb or excerpt. I personally do not find anything negative about the cover of “The Runaway Bride”. I don’t see anything in the cover that would denote rape or abuse. Maybe a little submission, but that’s what I expect in a book that covers or touches on the BDSM world.
Jo-Anne, I would say that old adage is a good course to follow; Never judge a book by it’s cover. 🙂
