Maybe you’ve been paying attention…not that you had to. This week’s blown so far as work. I missed my Friday short story release. Sorry!! But I’ll restart this coming week. Expect something new soon…something about a timid seamstress who takes on a sexy challenge…
So, why have the past few days been so crazy? My daughter and best friend, Kelly, underwent a radical hysterectomy yesterday. Everything went well, and she’s recovering in the hospital. She gets to drink things today. No food yet. And she’s already thinking about the foods she can’t wait to eat. Her wish list includes some dishes she hardly ever craves: barbecue brisket, pickles, and potato wedges. She’ll be dreaming about that as she sucks down her beef broth today.
I let her choose today’s question. So guess what the theme is? Yeah, food.
What’s your favorite thing to eat—THE dish,
the one you’d drive to the next town (or state) to eat?

For me it would be Bar B Q but it has to be chicken and only from Buckeys . Kelly get well soon 🙄

A slow cooked down home Texas brisket

When I had mine it was a cheeseburger. Not a good thing to crave when you are drinking your food I tell you 😛 . Also, speaking from experience, the more she walks the quicker she’ll get to go home. My bestie brought in bubbles (the plasticky ones) to entertain me. She knows me well!

I love food, that being said there are two things I would and have gone to great lengths to get. The two things are Lobster and Mexican food. I just found fish tacos and so far the best are in Houston Texas so that’s where I go for them. Lobster anywhere close to the ocean. 🙂

Shocker, I’m a dessert girl. I love blueberry boy bait (cake), rhubarb cake (my mom makes the best), or banana cream pie. If it has to be real food, cream style cucumbers made with fresh from the garden cucumbers, or grilled eggplant. Now I’m hungry!

I love a good prime rib steack and yes I will travel for it…lol 😉

I hope Kelly is feeling much better by now.
This isn’t a specific food, rather a place. My husband and I have driven over 3 hours just to eat at The Boston Fish House in Winter Park, FL. I love fried shrimp and they do it better than any place I’ve ever eaten.
My favorite dessert is an ice cream pie called Cap’n Jack’s Nutty Brother; it’s about 45 minutes away. 🙂

Homemade cheesecake! I live in Arizona and I have been known to travel to Cali, on a spur of the moment, when my adopted nana let’s me know she’s making it! IT. IS. THE. BOMB!!

A real, authentic pastrami sandwich. I prefer a famous place called The Hat which is at least 30 minutes away in good traffic, but my local Italian deli does a decent job too.
