It’s hard being mommy! And no, I’m not just talking about the fact I just birthed my 12th Uncharted SEALs tale. My dear daughter is halfway across the country helping out with her dad’s business, so I’ve pretty much moved in across the street with her family to watch kids, keep things orderly, and walk her way-too-fucking-many dogs. I get only a very slim window to escape to my office, check my email, and post a blog before I have to pack up for another day of challenges. Writing has taken a hit. Which isn’t good because I need to be making page count on my next story—something longer than I have been writing, but something I think you’ll enjoy—my first Montana Bounty Hunter story. So far, I only have one chapter. 🙁
She’s been gone a week, and I have just one more week to go. Did I mention that she has seven dogs that have to be rotated in and out of the yard in twos and threes or there would be war? And cats! And guinea pigs! Yeah, I much prefer my life with my solitary cat. I only occasionally have to watch my mom’s three Yorkies. And in the meantime, my bamboo plants are getting yellow. Isn’t it bad luck to kill them?
Anyways, what I would like is: 1) for y’all to go find a copy of my new release, SEAL Escort (of course!), and 2) tell me whether family puts impossible demands on you sometimes.

I did find the book and hope to get it. My family is putting too much on me right now. But this too shall pass.

Not many family demands for me. Both sets of parents are gone and hubby and I have no children. Our fur baby was pretty sick around a year ago but he’s doing amazing now.
I hope you are able to get back to your routine before too long. I know what it’s like when things get disrupted. Hurricane Irma through me for a loop and messed up my reading schedule. I’m still working on getting back on track. 🙂

I hate having my routine messed up. I remember when I first moved back in with my dad to help him out and the adjustment that was. But once we got into our rhythm it was fine. For the most part its okay now, but every once in a while he has bad days where I have to be his chauffeur and that always throws kinks in my daily plan. And sometimes my brother needs my help and he always waits til the last possible minute to ask instead of giving me a heads up. But that’s family for you and you just suck it up and help. Hope things settle down for you after next week.

Wow, 7 dogs! I think at times it can feel crazy when family asks for help… like my sister does sometimes… it feels likes she doesn’t appreciate it at times and just expects it, but family is family and I know that they have my back if needed.

Yes, my family absolutely expects too much.
My husband & kids think it is my responsibility to fix things. Doesn’t matter what, just call mom and she’ll take care of it. And I can’t. I’m getting to the point I hate to see their name on the caller ID. I know that sounds ugly but dammit, they are grown adults and need to take dare of themselves,.
