UPDATE: The winner is…Samantha Rowe!
*~*~*
We’ve been doing a lot of movie nights here. The weather’s crap and getting colder. COVID keeps us close to home. We like getting out dinner trays or putting out finger foods or popcorn to settle in for a night at the movies in the living room.
So far, we’ve watched Elf (always a must!), The Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2 (everyone enjoyed them), Godmothered (ONLY the 7-year-old liked it), White Christmas (only I enjoyed it—but I insisted they watch the classic at least once in their lifetimes!), Home Alone, and Operation Christmas Drop (a one-timer). Last night, we watched Last Holiday (3rd time for me, 1st for kids)—everyone enjoyed it!
So, my question to you for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card is what should we watch next?

Love Actually. Not sure if the kids will like it, but… also, it is kind of long. I also love One Starry Christmas. But, it is hard to find.

So we stumbled upon Santa and the Martians (or something like that). It’s terrible but we couldn’t stop watching lol we’ve made it part of our yearly watch list

I always loved to watch Miracle on 34th street the black and white version. Awesome and you have to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas with John Carrey. Great!

THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL is a lot of fun. We watch it each year.

the Grinch

My favorites are Love Actually, The Holiday, and The Family Stone, but probably only The Holiday would be good for the kids (there’s language in the other two).
We watched White Christmas here last weekend, and Love Actually last night. What about the Shrek Christmas special? We loved that, and the kids can watch it. 🙂

Someone already mentioned the one I was going to: Miracle on 34th Street with Natalie Wood and Maureen O’Hara.
When I was young the local PBS station would show Heidi with Shirley Temple. I loved that so much and a lot of it does take place at Christmastime.

We watched The Holiday and Shrek Christmas special the other night and we enjoyed them both.

I watch White Christmas and the first two Die Hard movies whenever they come on cable.

For me it’s not any particular movie that does it…. I enjoy most but none are a must have, but Christmas Carol nights are a must, like the new Disney one
Comment
I love the classics like It’s A Wonderful Life.

A Charlie Brown Christmas, of course 🙂

Babes in Toyland, The Holiday, the original How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Mickey Mouse Christmas Carol, Frosty the Snowman, Christmas in Madagascar
Instead of White Christmas, try Holiday Inn. I asked for White Christmas one year for my present. My mom got me Holiday Inn instead. She insisted I would like it better. She was right, I do like the music and dance in it better. The only problem with watching it now is it is NOT PC and can be seen as offensive (black face is present).

Die Hard, of course!

USS Christmas new Hallmark movie

Change: Love Actually then Die Hard….So good to see Rickman bite it

We watch the Polar Express every Christmas Eve. It’s a favorite.

The Santa Clause with Tim Allen.

There are some wonderful suggestions on this list! Instead, I watched a stinker—Cross Country Christmas.
Thanks to everyone for playing. The winner of the Amazon gift certificate is…Samantha Rowe!
