UPDATE: The winner is…Debbie Caswell!

I’m a collector of odd objects. My daughter says I’m a hoarder, but I’m slowly sharing my obsessive nature with her. She’s now collecting vintage Pyrex mixing bowls and refrigerator dishes and hunts them down on eBay and at flea markets with zeal. 🙂
I have many collections. A few of them include fortune-telling teacups, Russian lacquer boxes, McDonald’s kids toys (I have all the How to Train Your Dragon figures!), superhero Funko Pop figures (I have an RGB one—she was a superhero to me!), Strangling ornaments, weird and funny pens, to name a few…. And I also collect antique depression glass vanity powder jars from the 40s and 50s. I have five of them now. They aren’t expensive at all, but they are “collectible”. Most are glass with an animal on top. The puzzle is a picture of my latest acquisition. You can even rest a lipstick between its wings!

My daughter collected the original Beauty and Beast pieces that she could afford. If it wasn’t too expensive then she would buy 2, one to save and one to use. She still has all of the stuff she purchased that’s all boxed up. She still has her large pictures hanging on her walls.

The only thing I really am starting to collect is Polish pottery. I love how the pieces look and they are functional as well. I’m slowly replacing my plates/bowls/serving dishes with the Polish pottery.

My mother collected angels. My grandmother collected salt and pepper shakers. Me? I collect anything with pansies. You would be surprised the things I have found with a pansy on it. Nightlights, clocks, tea pots. It is a fun collection. My son once complained that I didn’t collect anything so he never knew what to get for me. I rolled my eyes and told him to really look around. I eventually had to explain to him that he was looking at a house full of pansies. He had never noticed. Guys can be so clueless. EXCEPT . . . My brother used to collect Beanie Babies. Weird. 😀

4:27 – not bad for me!
I used to collect beavers and probably have around 1,000, from teeny-tiny ones to much larger ones. It started as joke between me and my husband and soon I was getting them from family and friends for birthdays and Christmas.
Before we moved to Florida I had three large curio cabinets, plus several boxes that hung on the walls, all full of them. I couldn’t bring myself to part with them when we moved but, alas, they are mostly still in boxes because with only 1,300 sq. ft. there just isn’t room for them to be on display now.
My mother collected all kinds of things before she died. She had an extensive collection of Santas that she displayed all year ’round. She was especially fond of finding little doo-dads to display in the many printers trays she had on her walls. She also loved swans and would have loved your latest find!

My husband got me started on a doll collection. My sister in law one time decided to try to count the dolls. She counted over 300 and stopped when I said, oh those are just the ones that I have unpacked. I have still had several boxes that I need to unpack. She just shook her head. My daughter says they are spooky. Thimbles and spoons from the different states we have traveled too as well. lol I have always collected Angels and cobalt blue glassware as well as flow blue pottery. My husband has a guitar collection, as well as black powder rifles the older the better. One of them is 188 yrs old.
