UPDATE: The winner is…Deb Brown!
*~*~*
As you might imagine, Saint Patrick’s Day is a big thing in our household! We celebrate our Irish roots (I’m Irish only by “injection”—a crude way to put it, but I married into it!), but my red-headed daughter and her kids love this day. They, of course, wear green and reminisce. My daughter spent many summers in Ireland with her relatives and has stayed close to Irish friends. The big thing we do is eat our Irish meals! I have to special order in Irish breakfast items like bangers and black and white pudding (not pudding at all—it’s sausage!), plus proper Irish tea, soda bread, and rashers (thick bacon)! Our dinner is easier—corned beef and cabbage with a huge mess of potatoes. I’ve been saving Weight Watcher’s points so I can indulge!
Notice what I left out of the celebrations? Yeah, no green beer. Likely, no alcohol at all. Neither of us is much of a drinker, and it’s a school night…so, no. And no, that’s not un-Irish. My late mother-in-law was a Pioneer (short for, Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart)—she had buttons and pins awarded to her for “takin’ the pledge” to never drink a drop.

Celebrate it? No.
Honor and respect it by wearing green and making sure to eat a dish of irish Stew or Corned Beef & Cabbage – hell ya.

This year will be able to celebrate at a friends house after Mass with an almost all day tea, coffee and other foods, songs and generally sharing friendships again after the lockdown that kept large group gatherings from happening.

I love St. Paddy’s Day! It’s great craic!
Ive had the outside porch deco decked out in green since I pulled the xmas deco off it.
I wear green, tell alexa to play traditional Irish Pub songs, and drink Irish whiskey.
Course, I do most of that anyway, regardless what day it is.
Hope y’all have a good one.

I celebrate it by wearing green, helping my adults friends hide some gold chocolate coins, other candies, and letters on each desk around a room and making a mess. Then letting the kids go in so they can think some leprechauns came into the room to visit them and left them some treats. After we have a barbecue and play a couple of games with the kids.

Just wear green. I would love to try Irish breakfast. Maybe the corned beef and potatoes. Minus the cabbage. Don’t drink either.
Love Irish groups. Irish Rovers, Celtic Thunder, Celtics Women.

I wear green and this year we made the traditional meal

Generally…no there’s no celebrating in our house. I might wear green or make some ham & cabbage. But this year, I was sick with the stomach bug making the rounds here & didn’t get out of bed all day or even have a thing to eat!! I did decorate a little bit though….always do that.
