UPDATE: The winner is…Debra Guyette!
*~*~*
It’s sooooo hot here; a fresh heat wave is coming today. And wouldn’t you know it? The AC doesn’t work. My SIL’s very handy, and he’ll look at it after his shift with the local PD ends. However, I already have a service request submitted through our home appliance insurance to get someone out here. We’ll probably be roasting for days.
So, I’m thinking cool thoughts and keeping in the basement because the temperature down here never gets dire. I’m really thinking about an escape, wishing I could head to some beach. My sister and I have been playing with the idea of taking another trip to Hawaii next year. I’ll have to dream about sand squishing between my toes and swimming with the sea turtles until then.
In the meantime, we need a contest, right? Something fun!
Because I love reading about what’s going on in your lives, let me know. Tell me what you’re cooking. Tell me what you’re reading or watching on TV. Tell me about any trips you have planned. You choose the topic. Comment for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card!
In the meantime, I’ll be here, working on edits that are almost overdue, and putting the final touches on the story I have to get to my sister… Have a fabulous Sunday!

We have been hit with extreme heat… hitting 114 degrees. I have been getting little things done here and there around the house… reading almost every night… made homemade mac & cheese last night for dinner… it was gooood!
I hope your AC gets fixed soon!

I am fighting a headache and probably shouldn’t be looking at a computer screen right now. It’s a long day. Dang, I’m a bummer!

I am doing a re-watch of an oldy by goody – The Pretender. I own the DVDs. I started watching it earlier in the week when I lost the internet for a day. Yes, that was real. An idiot dump truck driver was tooling around town with the bed up and took up a bunch of cables. The entire town was without internet. Sounds like we were lucky he didn’t take out the electric too. Then I really would have known what it was like to be hit by an EM pulse. Anyway, watching The Pretender and crocheting a new afghan. A pattern I haven’t tried before. Learning a new stitch. It is making up really nice. Fun in small town Michigan. BTW, I am only six miles away from some fantastic beaches of Lake Michigan. This weekend they did Warriors on the Dunes. The dune buggies and such paraded passed my house on their way to the dunes. Since I am not particularly a fan of sand, it was a nice way to feel part of it.

Tonite I’m going to watch the Tony’s – I like to see what the new shows on Broadway are. I hope to get to the beach in August with family – it’s just such a long drive, but I haven’t seen most of them in a long time.

I’m sorry your A/C is out. We had to have a new one about 7 years ago and it was late August. You don’t want to be without A/C in Florida in August! Fortunately my sister lives nearby and was up north for a while so we were able to stay at her house until they got our new unit installed.
We had a daylight basement the last place we lived in Ohio, it was great when the A/C went out as it was always pretty cool down there.

I am getting ready for my Arizona relatives to come and visit so we can go to the beach…well it is only ten miles from my house and I could go anytime…but it is more fun when they come over to cool off.

Getting ready for family to come visit. I want to take a few hours to go see the new Top Gun movie. This coming week we will be beaching it (Va Beach) as well as doing fun things with my 6 yr old grandson!
