UPDATE: The winners are…miki and Debra Guyette!
*~*~*
I’m supposed to be writing my next book, but all I can think about are teabags. Yes, teabags… (and not the nasty, sexy kind—mind out of the gutter, please!)…
I’m thinking of switching from coffee to tea for a couple of weeks to build up a stash of used teabags. Why? you might ask. Well, you can dry them, take them apart, discard the used tea leaves, then flatten the empty bags and use them to paint on. Why do that? I don’t know. I have tons of paper and canvases, but when I go to Pinterest, I fall down the teabag-rabbit-hole. Check this link out and see what I mean: teabag art.
Aren’t they just gorgeous?!
I’m sure this sudden obsession has nothing to do with teabags. Although I am going to start collecting them and will likely be painting on them soon. It’s really about the fact I should be writing. I have a book due very, very soon. With pre-orders! I can’t fail.
So, while I close out my Pinterest page that I’m quickly filling with examples of lovely, grungy teabag art, why don’t you think of ways to help me keep my mind focused on the work!
Give me some constructive or funny ideas for how I can keep my focus on the task at hand (the book)! Comment here and you’ll be entered to win a copy of a downloadable book of your choice from my backlist! I’ll pick two winners!

You had me at tea. I love tea. One of my favorite is to brew green tea with little water then add it to ice cold lemonade!! And maybe green tea will help you focus on the book??

I didn’t know you could use tea bags for art. You can find the most interesting things.
We need you to write. I need a fabulous meet-cute. I wish I was closer to keep you on the writing/imagination bandwagon.
Maybe go for a walk in nature to feel inspired.

We throw the tea leaves into our compost pile… never thought of keeping the bags for anything… I myself can not focus today… not sure how to encourage you…

Pinterest is pure evil! It’s so easy to get distracted by all of the pretties and ideas. I recommend shutting down the distraction and then walk away to do something active. I find that the process helps me reset. I also use a timer so I know there is a break coming where I can do something active.

You could get one of those shock things and every time you stop typing for more than a few minutes it shocks you to get your attention. Just kidding. I like all the tea ideas. I hate coffee.

Focus, focus, focus. ummm, maybe set yourself up with a lovely difusser scented with lavender, calming and soothing. I also like wild orange and a bit of mint. And maybe have a cup of tea too. Smelling, tasting equals writing. Now get going!

You could block yourself from pinterest with a magic lock only unlockable each time you had done 2000 words on the book.
