UPDATE The winner is…Joy Boutwell!
*~*~*
I used to be a last-minute shopper. You know, the one who hit the mall the night before Christmas to buy all the gifts. No kidding. It was horrendously stressful, but I hate shopping (unless it’s at a flea market!), so I procrastinated over Christmas.
These days, with online shopping, it’s soooooo nice. And I can stretch out the expense over several months instead of having all the bills hit at Christmas. I start early. Typically, in August. I list everyone I want to purchase a gift for then methodically start knocking it out. This year, I have six people in the house and my aunt to buy gifts for. I really, really try to consider Christmas cards for others, but again, I’m a horrible procrastinator. This year, I’m going to do better. I have a list. It’s getting “codified” in my planner. It will be done.
So, my question for you is whether you’re a procrastinator or do you squirrel away gifts over the year to give at Christmas time? A second question! Do you have any ideas for what I can do for my readers through my website or my Facebook pages? I was thinking about giving away free stories (downloads), mailing hand-painted bookmarks, and maybe doing one mailable gift for one lucky winner. Any ideas would be appreciated! I want to send some small handmade items to a couple of folks who’ve been part of my Team Delilah, too. I’ll put it in the plan!
So, for a chance to win your choice of one of my downloadable books, comment below!

i do start early espiacilly when creating the gift myself because that’s take time for sure then with international shipping better start in advance if we want those to arrive on time or at least not too late.
i think handmade bookmarks are a great idea it’s easy to ship but can be totally personnalised

Yay! Slipping a bookmark into a Christmas card would be so easy. I need to make a ton.

I try to buy presents as I find them, regardless of the date on the calendar. My hubs wants to wait and stopped me from buying gifts. I saw Cabbage Patch kids dolls in a Kmart just before they became the thing to have and picked up 4 for family and friends. He said no, we’ll get them next time we come shopping. The fad hit and each of those dolls could have been sold for $5000! He still hasn’t lived that one down!

I always start out good but then procrastinate.

I love the idea of free stuff is so exciting to receive.🤗

I may pick up an item here or there, but I try to get lists by November to really start shopping!

I usually buy gifts early, but I do that less and less as time passes. I think it would be great to offer bookmarks. I also love when my favorite authors share the books they have read and enjoyed!

I buy gifts as I see them so I don’t have to rush. I usually get lists by November. But if I see something I might want for the grandkids I buy before November.

I use to squirrel away something chronic……my husband hated it, now I’m not allowed to start, unless it’s a really good sale until November for online gifts and December for in shop gifts ….. But I’m still usually done by the qpth of December.

I try to start early, but pretty much that’s what my Christmas Club is for so as soon as those finds hit my account…I’m a shopping fool. But I do already have one thing each for my 2 grandchildren. I make a list so when I get an idea what I want for someone it goes next to their name. I think one of your hand painted bookmarks would be a lovely gift..they’ve all been gorgeous. One of your books downloaded is always nice. The ideas you stated for your readers sounds very nice.

I used to shop all year long and wrap as I went along. Now I don’t buy much of anything and what I do buy is usually purchased close to Christmas.

I try and start early on gifts. My Mom got them at the after Christmas sales and would keep them hidden for a year and then put them under the Christmas tree.

I hardly get to give gifts. Usually my art so it takes time to make.

With no kids, no living parents hubby and I stopped buying Christmas gifts for each other years ago. We’ve agreed to no gifts with friends and remaining family members.
You know I love your art and especially your bookmarks and postcards. I’m sure anything you’d do for your readers/fans would be appreciated.

I do mine early. I have a spiral notebook and in January I write down everyone’s name I’m getting gifts for. When I think of what I want to get them I write it down. Then I start researching to get the best price.
I only have two more things to get for one of my sons but I do have to wait closer to Christmas just in case it has to be returned.
I already have my Christmas Card list ready, end of November I fill them out and they go in the mail December 1st.
I’m a very organized person LOL

I used to buy most of my gifts during whatever vacation we took during the summer. Now, I’ve gotten lazy, and I generally just give gift cards and/or cash.

Thanks for sharing! I like Joy’s idea of writing down the names in January!! That’s extreme planning! LOL
