UPDATE: The winner is…Tamye Whitener!
*~*~*
My day starts with a cup of coffee. I need a couple of cups just to get going in the morning. Then I have another around noon because I don’t dare have one later in the day or I’ll be up to the wee hours of the morning.
Coffee is more than just my jumpstart. Always has been. When I was in the Army, we called it “Lifers’ Blood,” and yes, we drank out of an urn of coffee that kept it warm all day, but the coffee had the consistency of molasses by the time the afternoon rolled around. Still, we drank it. Actually, it was a badge of honor to sip a cup of the sludge without grimacing.
These days, my daughter and I sit sipping coffee outside in the morning, rain or shine, warm or cold weather, while the dogs have their morning run. We talk about what we’re doing that day, gossip about family and friends, share news about politics and celebrities—all over our favorite beverage.
I’ve decided that since my daily brew is the center of so much of our lives, that we deserve an upgrade. For convenience’s sake, we both have Keurigs. Truly, it makes terrible coffee. We’ve tried different brands, but they all pretty much taste the same coming out. We do love how fast we can get our cup in the morning, but I’m willing to put in the time to produce a decent cup for our morning “share” session.
Years ago, I had an espresso/cappuccino maker. It was a pain in the ass to operate and clean. However, espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes are my favorites when I go out to someplace that actually makes a decent cup. Hell, I’d also love a coffeemaker that makes a decent plain cup of coffee.
So, for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, help me out. Share your recommendations for improvements. Do you love a particular brand of K-cup? Do you have a coffeemaker you love? Do you have a recipe for a fancy coffee that I could try making with what I have?

I wish that I could help you out with this question, but I don’t drink coffee at all (not even Frappuccino or cappuccino). I love to smell it being made, but I hate the taste.

Braun makes the best coffee makers. I once bought one from the local donut shop here in Canada called Tim Hortons. It made coffee in 3 min with an anti drip so I could pull out the pot and pour some if I couldn’t wait the 3 min.

Misty, I have family members who feel the same way. I don’t understand it—at all. 🙂 I’ve loved coffee since I was a 5-year-old.
Laura, I’ll check them out. TY

Tips for a better cup of java. I agree Braun makes the best coffee maker hands down but I want/need single cup so that’s out (for me).
Family member got the newest “K-Supreme® SMART Single Serve Coffee Maker” which I gotta admit rocks.
But. I feel it’s not the coffee maker that determines your end cup. It’s the brand and caffeine numbers. Personally I’m a ‘light roast’ girl. Light roast has the highest generic caffeine level. Not to be confused with 2x caffeine and such promos.
Next is the brand of coffee. Caribou has a following for a reason. They make good coffee. I know Starbucks is probably more notable but I don’t like their coffee. Caribou has a better flavor imho.
So. Throwing out to you that it may not be the maker but the brand you might want to experiment on to find your perfect morning zen.

Fun puzzle, took 3:10.
I do not enjoy coffee and never have. My husband learned to drink it by the pot on submarines in the Navy. He has various ways of making it, from French press to Keurig Supreme. He also enjoys coffee from Tim Horton’s when we are in Michigan or Canada, but can’t stand Starbucks. I like Breville appliances and they make some nice coffee makers. Hubby also liked the look of the OXO Brew 9 Cup Stainless Steel Coffee Maker, $230 at Amazon.

I just have a Mr. Coffee with Folger’s classic blend. My time on the puzzle is 8:12. Love doing these puzzles!!

Afraid not. I’m strictly a tea drinker.

I love coffee – I have a large mug most mornings, and also have to keep away from caffeine late in the day (also sugar & chocolate). I use a Keurig and tend to buy K-cups when on sale – my favorites are Gevalia & Newman’s Own. I like to buy Newman’s Own products because the profits go to kids charities – I think one of Paul & Joanne’s daughters still has an active role. I also like their Lemonade (not too sweet – no high fructose corn syrup which I try to stay away from), salad dressing, and had some of their microwave popcorn last night.

Never liked coffee… the only hot beverage I drink is Hot Chocolate.

3:40 at home I just drink instant – too easy. When I am out and about I like to buy a cappuccino.

Top never let us wash the coffee urn, because he said it ruined the taste of the coffee…err, sludge.
So, maybe wash the coffee pot now and then?

I liked the puzzle. I am a tea drinker. I really like English tea by Twinings. i also love my keurig. The only time I drank coffee was when I was working night shift. It was impossible to make a good cup of tea with a microwave.

My Mr. Coffee bit the dust, so I had to get a new coffee pot. I was going to get a Bunn but with our power surges it wouldn’t have lasted. So I went with a Hamilton Beach Flex Brew. It makes a full pot or if you want a single cup you can use the other side. That side can use grounds or K-cups. It is a little on the slow side, but that’s ok. I drink regular Folger’s Classic. But sometimes I will make a hot Caramel Macchiato for me or a Frappuccino for my son.

While I don’t drink much coffee, DH has tried just about every way of making it there is, LOL! While he now has a Breville he really likes, he’s also pretty happy with the Aeropress, a Bialetta stove top, and a French press. Hope you enjoy whichever maker you decide on!

Our HEB has a wonderful selection. We often use a rough grind in a french press. 4 tablespoons for 4 cups of coffee. We just got an espresso machine and are trying it soon

Sorry I don’t like coffee at all! Not even in desserts.

Nice puzzle! I don’t like coffee at all, I’m more of a tea drinker so I can’t really help you with that.

I love all kinds of coffee! If you want instant coffee you can keep in your purse, I recommend Mount Hagen. I found it at a health food store a while back and it’s really good! Plus it comes in decaf that’s excellent.

I love my Mainstays Single Serve Dual Brew Coffee. It cost less than $20, but I prefer it over the two Kurigs I had bought in the past. I can brew up to 20 oz cup of coffee or tea in one brewing. And I can use a togo coffee cup. It also does both k-cups or loose brew. I love it.
My favorite coffee is Jamaican Me Crazy by Boston’s Best.

Not a coffee drinker. Prefer hot chocolate instead.

Don’t like coffee. I only make it because I am asked by others.

It’s been quite a few years since I drank coffee. One time when I had a stomach bug, coffee upset my stomach more & afterwards, it just turned my stomach & I had to stop drinking it. It smells delicious some days but I’m not willing to have the horrible cramps back. When I was using my K-cups, I did like caramel flavored as I love caramel flavorings.

I don’t drink coffee (or tea) but my hubby is sort of a coffee snob. He recently started using a Clever pour over coffee maker (Clever is the brand name). It’s a bit labor intensive IMHO but he swears the coffee tastes much better than his regular drip coffee maker.

So many non-coffee drinkers! And so many great suggestions, although I was hoping for a recipe or two for a great fancy coffee. LOL
