In the confines of the locked inner chamber, the young woman stirs the waters of the vision pool, seeking an answer. Her access to the room was forbidden, so she must hurry. Unfortunately she must wait until the waters stop swirling for her answer…
A spell sent her love away, leaving him with no memory of her and the only way this forest fae can see him is by looking in this bowl of magical water.
Even though they said she had no powers, Miranda knew if she stirred up this tub of wonder, she’d find her long lost love. She could prove to everyone with a few swipes of her hands, Frederick would be back in her life.
She thought they were going to a lovely dinner but no. He, who is now known as The Once and Forever Ex, took her to a party with his small town cronies is the deep countryside. Bored and tired of being a trophy date while he flirted with his high school heartthrob, she took a walk along a path towards a barn. She saw a too bright reflection and walked gingerly to a feed tank. “What the hell did these idiots put in the cow’s water to make it glow” and repeated the first thought she had upon arriving: How far out are we that I can’t get an Uber.” She picked up a dried leaf, and touched it to the water. She yelped then jumped back when the plain tank shifted to a higher smaller and jeweled fountain. Shaking her head she thought “oh great, now I am hallucinating”.
Liquid silver reflected the green of the witch’s lair. Elisym slid her fingers through the semi-solid matter, caressed it with the love she’d known before this place, this time. It would cause her death, but better death by this poison, the mercurial moving silver devil of the evil’s god’s blood, than to remain here and give her blood and soul to keep the witch alive and vital. She plunged her hand deep within, praying that in the next life she’d be standing at the altar with a true love to marry, and not as her father’s offering to maintain his rule.
