UPDATE: The winner is…Sara D!
*~*~*
Argh! So far, I’ve only been in my pool maybe one handful of times. The weather here in Arkansas simply isn’t cooperating! I’m soooo frustrated. After tons of chemicals and scrubbing the sides and bottom, the water is crystal clear, but it’s too dang cold to swim comfortably.
We’ve had the pool since 2008, I think. In all these years, I’ve mustered the courage to brave a cool pool in April, knowing that by early to mid-May, it will be a comfy with the water temperature in the mid-80s. However, this year, Mother Nature is being a bitch. The outdoor temperatures here are still crazy cool for this time of year. Last night was in the upper 50s. Today’s temperature will only rise to 83.
It’s not that I have to swim in bathwater, but I’m actually allergic to the cold. The condition is called “cold urticaria.” If I’m submersed in water cooler than 80 degrees, I get welts all over my body and my skin itches like crazy. My symptoms get progressively worse the longer I’m exposed.
So, here I am. I’ll spend time today testing the water and treating it with some algaecide and looking at its crystal-clear depths. Maybe I’ll venture in for ten minutes just because I can’t stand not to (I am a water baby).
Anyway, that’s my gripe session for the day. I’ll keep busy editing some projects and cleaning up my space. I had a busy week working, and I let things pile up around me. I’ll keep busy so I’m not thinking about that lovely, ice-cold pool!
For a chance to win a $5 Amazon GC, tell me what you’ll be doing today! Enjoy the puzzle! The image makes me sad. 🙂

Today I need to do a final read through of a story for an anthology my writers’ group is doing. Also need to do some outside work if I can find that sweet spot of temps between cold and sizzling. I have another story I want to get back to. Otherwise, just chilling.

Beautiful picture. Wish I could say I was sitting by one.
I’m answering questions in Genealogy for my great-great Aunt as she is getting ready to leave and visit the Netherlands where her father, my 2nd great grandfather was born in 1885, and immigrated from. She is 85. And her son and his family. She is meeting at least one cousin there.
Then I’m going to finish reading one book, and starting an ARC. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

I started watching The Diplomat on Netflix last night, so after taking care of a few chores I’ll probably finish watching the rest of the episodes – it’s really good.

Well we had a water leak with one of the lines out to plants, so we had to dig it out and replace it… so this weekend I am chilling! I will read whatever books call to me… enjoy some ice cream… have a BBQ and maybe go into our pool… it has been in the high 90s to low 100s already.

Not much. It is a cool and rainy day in Virginia. Too cool for the beach. Maybe next weekend.

Right now I am sitting on the bathroom floor because I fell and can’t get up. Both knees just buckled and down I went. Waiting on family to get here to help me up, they are on their way. Not sure if knees are going to hold me up so may be on way to hospital. Hopefully today gets better. At least the puzzle gave me something to do to take my mind off everything for a few minutes.

It’s been a crazy day. I’m getting ready to go to bed so I can get up early again tomorrow and start all over again.

I am chilling. I am enjoying reading a good anthology just released. Great day sunny 70s to 80’s still breezy. Also really enjoying Disney’s series A Small Light. It is very good.

Thank you. After sitting for almost 2 hours family got here and helped me up. As thought knees would not hold me up so we did go to hospital. Ended with broken little finger, lots of bruises and bloody scrapes, and was put on crutches. X-rays showed severe arthritis both knees. So now working with Dr what can be done. Dr not recommending knee surgery.
