UPDATE: The winner is…Gail Siuba!
*~*~*
This coming weekend (unless some catastrophe occurs), I’ll be visiting my sister, Elle James, along with our good friend Cynthia D’Alba in northern Arkansas for a writers’ retreat! It will be fun to spend time with other writers and to catch up with each other as friends. I’m already making a list of things I want to accomplish this weekend. You know, me and my lists! 🙂
Here’s a fun list of 10 things we can do on our retreat…
- ☕ Drink coffee in the morning while chatting about our stories
- 🤔 Think about the writing
- 💡 Find our inspiration
- ✍🏼 Then… Write! Write! Write! Write! Write!
- 🍷 Drink some wine!
- 🧀 What’s wine without cheese?
- 🏊♀️ Swimming
- 🍽️ Eat some good food
- 🍦 Reward oneself with ice cream for a good day of writing
- 🍫 Eat some chocolate just because!
For a chance to win a $5 Amazon GC,
tell me five things you’d do on Girls-Only Weekend!

We just did a girls weekend at the beach last month. We had breakfast, coffee, beach time, water park time, snack time, did a little shopping and went to a nice dinner. There was so much more to do but we didn’t want to be so rushed we didn’t enjoy ourselves.

That’s actually a hard question for me. Almost 70 and I’ve never been on one of those. I guess the theme and destination would sort of provide direction. I don’t like coffee or alcohol (personal preference). I am Italian, so food is a must. I love yard sales and such and enjoy shopping (though more looking than buying). I prefer cooler weather. If it were a writing weekend or retreat, besides the above I think deep brainstorming and sharing of plots would be in the picture. So my 5 would be: eating, plotting, shopping, relaxing, and writing.

I hope you have a wonderful time and that Hurricane Idalia doesn’t mess up your plans! It’s been a while since I’ve seen Elle but I’ll be seeing Cynthia at Books at the Beach in September. One of these days I’m going to get to meet you, too. 🥰

My first choice would be a massage. Second, would be a mani-pedi. The third would be relaxing at the pool with a cocktail. Fourth, would be a nice steak dinner and another drink. Lastly, would be a show, i.e.: Vegas style. LOL
If I’m going to dream, this would be an awesome day or two.
