UPDATE: The winner is…cindy!
*~*~*
I’m up early to get ready for the Christmas craft sale today! I’ll post this blog and go jump in the shower. Even if it rains, and that puts a damper on folks turning out for the sale, it will be fun! I always shop the other vendors, and the venue feeds us really, really well. I can’t wait for the homemade chili!
In the meantime, solve the puzzle! Then tell me whether you have any homemade holiday decorations you treasure for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card!
Psst! And don’t forget to head over to my Friends page on Facebook to enter the Advent contest!

Sometimes we have homemade decorations but not often.

We used to make homemade ornaments and drew names and made homemade gifts because with 6 kids and a single mother you had to be thrifty. I still have most of my gifts and ornaments. I cherish them dearly now that mom has passed.

Absolutely! I have Santa Claus stockings my mom crocheted for myself and hubs. I also have tree decorations from my kids when they were little and a handprint and a footprint reindeer from my grandson when he was one!

Wow. Fun puzzle. Took me 9 minutes, not sure if good or bad😂. Love homemade decorations, my kids made a ton and school and still have them all.

I’ve made a lot of homemade ornaments. When I worked at the local 5 and dime back in the late 70s, every year I made a limited edition of a 2×3 inch counted cross-stitch stuffed ornament. It was stitched on one side, the other was a section of the red or green cloth napkins. It was stitched together and filled with polyfill and a pine potpourri. I stitched the year on every set.
The other I have made were 2 squares of plastic canvas that when cut out and set together, it formed an 8 point piece. I used either blue for a snowflake or green for holly. I hung a jingle bell in the center. Always gave them all away–never kept any for myself.

We have some with pictures of the kids when they were young. And some really old ones I had decorated with our names in glue & glitter. I saw a craft I want to try – stacked flat buttons that graduate from larger to small that look like little Christmas trees.

I have a few I made and painted, but my favorite is this little ornament my grandma made.

When I was 6 years old I had a friend whose mother made pottery. He made me a beautiful pottery of Mary with glitter all over it. It’s still one of my favorite ornaments even though it cracked years ago and I had to glue it back together.

Yes, I have a couple my kids made years ago. Oldest small picture ornament. Youngest a popsicle stick ornament Rudolph. Thanks

There are a few from when my siblings and I were in primary school that we still hang on the tree at my mom’s. The fact that they have been around for a few decades doesn’t stop the memories we have.

I made Christmas Angel Tree toppers for mine and my cousins trees about 30 years ago. We all still have them and use them. The kids are now asking where theirs are since they are married and have families of their own with their own trees. So I am

I have a couple of ornaments that I cherish that my mom made several years ago. My family also has what we call an ornament day where we get together and make ornaments that each person has picked out. It is so much fun, and we make some of the cutest and uglies ornaments. We love the ugly ones as much as we do the cutest ones.

We are a family of crafters. Most of our ornaments are handmade these days. The best ones though are the ones made by my granddaughter.
