December into January (Contest)
Sunday, December 31st, 2023

UPDATE: The winner is…Diane Sallans!
*~*~*

December

Work-related:

  1. I continued to work on Malcolm (Book #10 of Montana Bounty Hunters: Dead Horse, MT).
  2. I completed 5 editing projects for other authors in December.
  3. I didn’t write a lot in December, between the craft fair and getting ready for the holiday/having kids underfoot, but I don’t care. It was a fun month!

Health-related:

  1. I have been concentrating on drinking more water, plus, I added drinking water mixed with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar twice a day to improve my liver health. It’s weird, but after the first couple of times of drinking it while wrinkling my nose, I actually like it.
  2. I’ve managed to keep my blood pressure down to 135-155, despite the holiday excesses.

Happiness-related:

  1. I finished some last items for the Christmas craft fair and participated in early December. It was so much fun!
  2. Here are some examples of things I completed before the fair. And yes, I painted tags for potholder sets. 🙂

January

Malcolm (Montana Bounty Hunters: Dead Horse, MT Book 10) What Happens in Bozeman

For work-related, I plan:

  1. To complete writing Malcolm, my next Montana Bounty Hunters book and publish it!
  2. To begin work on What Happens in Bozeman, my next We are Dead Horse, MT, book!
  3. To complete 4 editing projects in January!

For health related, I plan:

  1. To start back on my Weight Watchers diet, because it’s time to get serious!
  2. To continue to reduce salt, processed food, and incorporate foods good for blood pressure (spinach, broccoli, bananas) and my liver (apple cider vinegar, flax seeds, sunflower seeds).
  3. To pay attention to my daily steps, trips up and down the stairs, and to incorporate some chair exercises and more walking.
  4. To do more housework because my art room isn’t finished! Cleaning is exercise, too.

For happiness-related, I plan:

  1. To participate in the Gel Print January challenge where I’ll be making painted pages for collaging—at least one every day!
  2. To assume the presidency of the local art guild, much as I don’t want to, but someone’s got to keep the organization going!

Drinking more water, getting outside more, keeping up with my reviews better so I’m not scrambling to get them written at the end of the year.

Have you been eating flax seeds for a long time? I have a friend who put flax seeds on everything until she developed diverticulitis from them.

Have a safe and happy New Year! 🎊🍾

I love that you have so much going on. Choice is the spice of life. I drink a ginger & lemon shot for my health. I am thinking of adding a shot with beets. I want to change jobs, right now I work with High School students, but my love if the wee ones. So I plan to make that happen, and I want to create enough to sell my crafts. I knit, crochet, bead, make jewelry. Sometimes I think it is too much to put out there.

I love your crafts! The hand painted tags are a nice touch. I am going to complete a couple of long term projects in the next couple of months. I am excited to finally finish them.

I should drink more water – have to try adding the apple cider vinegar. I do love your crafts – once I get myself moved I’ll get myself into some crafting.

DD (um, dear daughter, not Delilah in this case 😉 ) and I are working on knitting a blanket together. I’m hoping to get back to ballet in the coming months, and keep walking and reading…

    I love your art!
My continued goals for myself are to keep moving and losing weight. I’ve lost 35lbs in 2023 just by walking so I plan to continue and to start eating more plant based not because I have to but it helps with my fibromyalgia.

For me I am like you I need to get serious about losing this extra weight or I am going to be in a wheel chair. I have bad knees and ankles. I know I can do it ; it is just getting motivated to do it.

I plan on reading as much as I can this next year to help keep me relaxed and calm.

I hope that you have great success with all of your coming goals for this year. Please share any good recipes you come across.

I type medical transcription and there is one Dr. that tells everyone to eat the rainbow. That you will get all the nutrients and vegetables good for you if you eat the rainbow in colors.

I want everything organized so I can be more creative. So between reading when my health allows. I be trying to organize my house so I can be creative whenever the mood strikes.

I’m concentrating on setting up a self care routine. I tend to take care of everyone else and forget about me.
