Word Search: Coffee Stream of Consciousness because… (Contest)

UPDATE: The winner is…Debra Guyette!
*~*~*

I had “Word Search” on my blog list for today, and with the app open couldn’t think of a topic. So, I took a sip of the coffee I’d poured from my French press…

I LOVE coffee, so it’s easy for me to let my mind drift through all the types of brews, appliances, etc. I did a “stream of consciousness” thing, where I let my mind riff through coffee-related things, and I made my list of words very quickly.

I thought of my grandma and grandpa’s stove-top percolator that I swear made the best coffee on earth. They added evaporated milk and swirl of sugar to make it palatable to six-year-old me. I own a French press (for when I have the patience to wait), an espresso machine (for when I have the patience to clean up after I use it), and a Keurig machine near my desk. Yes, I’m serious about coffee. I have to drink 2-3 cups a day to keep me alert and my mind spinning tales. Of course, at my age, I have to stop drinking it just after noon or I don’t sleep.

Most of the time, I drink my coffee black. But there are occasions when I love an iced, chocolatey coffee. Or a cappuccino or latte. That’s for when I want to sit at the table and chat. It’s a ritual thing, I think.

Anyway, there’s a contest here. I want you to do a “stream of consciousness” list of coffee or tea related things for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card! Have fun!

I used to drink coffee. When I lived in Seattle, I became a coffee snob. Whole Bean. Self ground. French press. Pike Place Roast. Starbucks. Latte. No foam. Grande. Hey! That was easier than I thought. I thought tea would be easier since that is what I drink now. Earl Grey. Hot. Honey. Irish Breakfast. Bergamot. Rose hip. Infuser. Loose leaf. Lemongrass. Blends. Okay, you got a twofer. Fun exercise with our puzzle. Thank you.

I don’t drink coffee. My mother said I drank pale tan milk from my bottle as a baby (milk with a hint of coffee and sugar) but I do not like it now. I do drink tea. I did so more when I worked. My mom had a cup she used for her tea. It was stained over the years. I still have that cup in the cupboard. I like my hot tea with honey. If I have iced tea, I use a sweet and low–old style if I can find it. It had saccharine and not aspartame, which is bad for you. I like almond tea. When I drink that, I flash back to NYC in 1983. I spent 5 days staying there. 3 of us used 24 almond tea bags. We made a pot of tea along with homemade macaroni salad, went up to the rooftop and watched the fireworks celebrating Brooklyn Bridge’s 100th birthday. And if you feel miserable, mix tea with tang and country time lemonade with some cloves and make Russian tea. Hits the spot.
Tea bags also have a use–if you have a tooth pulled, put a wet teabag over the hole to stop the bleeding. Tea is also a natural dye. Crafters use tea water to ‘age’ paper.

    Pansy—great list!

Cindy—I have to try that Russian tea recipe! And yes, I use tea and the emptied tea bags in my art!

I am not fond of coffee – so Keurig tea, tea bas, teapot, teacup, joy tea. I love drinking tea. I drink in the morning and evening

Not a coffee or tea fan… the only hot things I drink are cocoa and cider. My sister loves her coffees and teas though.

I love coffee and tea. I’ve been drinking a lot of ginger tea with honey lately. If you’ve never tried freeze dried coffee I can recommend Mount Hagen. They offer coffee in single use tubes you can carry with you so you always have a hit of coffee with you.

I tend to connect with friends at coffee shops more than not. Not a chain store, but little out of the way cafes that provide personal service, great coffee and ambience.

I donā€™t drink coffee anymore since it started to bother my stomach. I can drink a Dunkin Donuts iced coffee with caramel flavoring & equal added to it. I do drink tea every morningā€¦maybe 2 or 3 cups depending on my day. I sometimes do drink flavored teasā€¦mostly fruit flavored. Iā€™m fond of having a hot chocolate during the winter months with a bit of Rum Chattaā€¦.the coconut cream flavored one is delicious in there.

Hot coffee, plain, black, simple, flavor, hardly ever. Cold coffee, Frappuccino, almond milk, whip cream, sweet, blend, day drink, happy.

Tea, leafs, infuser, great grandmother, read tea leafs, name sake, fun afternoons.

Maybe not how you think of things but itā€™s where my mind went.

Never drink coffee but hubby drinks enough for both of us. Only drink hot tea if at a fancy tea or at the end of a meal in the winter.

Coffee & Tea both dislike me. Smell, taste, etc. I’m great at making it, it for others as long as you like strong coffee.

I like the idea of coffee way more than I seem to like actual coffee, LOL. I do have a sip now and again, usually if one of the kids is having some and offers. I mainly drink tea if I’m at a Chinese restaurant with my parents. Otherwise, I stick mostly to hot water at home…

I didn’t really start drinking coffee until my Mom passed 22 years ago. I miss her and it seem when I have a cup of coffee the warmth feeling like her hugs SHE LOVED COFFEE. It also gives me that time out of the day as I drink to be reflect on her, keeps hurt at bay
