UPDATE: The winner is…Annie!
*~*~*
Sometime in late spring/early summer, I’m going to write a book that will be the start of a new series. All I know about it is that it will be centered around a ranch and have elements of suspense or mystery. Maybe the books will be related with brothers or former soldiers coming together. The brothers might have second jobs (deputy sheriff, firefighter, pilot…). There will be suspense and danger, but that’s really all I have floating around in my head. I’ll try to give it some thought before I start writing (not my usual M.O.).
Help me out by letting me know where you’d like this series set. Enter your choices (you have two) in the poll then share any ideas you have for me in the comments for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card. They don’t have to be good. They can be entirely silly—I’d love that. Have fun!

Picked South Dakota because it is a little remote and has lots of space.

I selected South Dakota. Of the states mentioned, SD was the only one I have been in. Of course it was a Sunday drive after work in Omaha. We drove north into SD exited the interstate, turned around and headed back to Omaha. We did it just to say we were in SD. note: I am from PA and still live here, but worked 6 weeks in Omaha.

Thanks, Eileen!
Cindy! LOL. When my mother-in-law visited from Ireland years ago, we drove her to Texarkana, which sits on the border of Arkansas and Texas, so she could have her picture taken in front of the Texas sign.

You can have Cowboys anywhere that raises beefā¦ And not necessarily beef, there are sheep, pigs, alpacasā¦but they are usually affiliated with beef. Southern states like Florida, Alabama, Georgiaā¦.all raise beef. In Florida, they are called crackersā¦because of the sound of the whips they use to move the cattle. Might be a bit interesting if the guys came together in a military unit and after they served, went their own way to try ranchingā¦.when times got toughā¦say, when Covid raised its ugly headā¦they decided to unite economicallyā¦so, you could either have them coming together in one place all the time. Or set stories in different places and they come to help with a problem .

Wyoming & South Dakota were my choices… just different locations than I am used to…

I vote Kentucky for the location of the new cowboy series.

I vote for Oklahoma!

I chose Texas. The sheer size of this state makes it open to so many possibilities.
I LOVE Ellen Wulf’s comment.

I chose Wyoming and South Dakota since there’s plenty of stories about cowboys set in Texas. Plus they are places I would love to visit.

Come on ladies………………….we all know the only true cowboys are from Texas. :):)

Did Wyoming and Arkansas. Can’t wait to read them.

I really like the idea of Arkansas because it’s unusual. The cowboys can be transplants from Texas or Wyoming but the setting would be cool if it was in Arkansas.

I picked Wyoming, but New Mexico or Arizona would be interesting locations – not sure if I’ve read cowboy stories set in either of those.

Arkansas

I would love to see a military unit where they come together and help each other. I voted Oklahoma as I have read few books set there.

I think Louisiana would be an interesting state for Cowboys. I like the idea of them having other jobs as well, and an ex-military unit all working together on the ranch.

It would be great to have a cowboy story in Texas. You know everything is bigger in Texas!

My vote is for Arkansas–I admit I know very little about it, but it would be cool to learn more!

Wyoming got to visit there last year for the first time it’s so pretty

Well, Wyoming, it is! Thanks for participating in the poll, everyone!
