UPDATE: The winners are…Sharon, Jennifer Beyer, and Beth!

Today’s another celebration of an obscure (weird) holiday. I do love those. Every day we wake up is a cause for celebration, right? 🙂
Anyway, I read that this one started somewhere around 2004 and may have been inaugurated by author Donita K. Paul to celebrate the release of her book DragonSpell. If so, thank you, Donita!
We do love our dragons. If you love dragons, of course, you should check out my friend N.J. Walters’ The Blood of the Drakon series. They are excellent stories!
I’ve written a couple of dragons as well. You can win a FREE copy of your choice of one of these stories by telling me about your favorite dragons in books or movies! I’ll choose 3 Winners!

I love Smaug from The Hobbit, Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon, and the dragons in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s were-hunter book series.

Only read the beginning of one set. Chief Dragon by Scarlett Grove so far.

Shelly Laurenston’s Dragon Kin books. About A Dragon, Dragon Actually, etc. There are around 12 of them and they are hysterical.

I love dragons that know their own power but use it sparingly, as needed. Their whole aura says “Don’t mess with me.” They protect others, often with the person never knowing. They find it easier to live alone and work in the shadows or find with a group of other dragons that use their strength and power to help others. But when it comes to finding their mate and claiming her, they will stop at nothing to win her over.

Love dragons! 😀 Do not really have a favorite though…

Love dragons!!! And dragon shifters!!!! My fave book series about dragons (has both non-shifting and shifters) is Bianca D’Arc’s Dragon Knight series. Don’t really have a fave movie or TV dragon. I have a purple dragon as the background picture on both my desktop computer and my laptop…and my phone!

Shelly Laurenston/GA Aiken’s Dragon Kin series is hilarious. Also Donna Grant’s Dragon Kings are awesome.

I once wrote a story for a contest called Where Do You Find a Dragon? A young boy raises him. When the kingdom was attacked by another dragon. The ancient texts revealed Pip, the boy’s dragon was the one destined to save the kingdom. Pip, of course, died. At the end, it is revealed another dragon egg was laying dormant for when it will be needed.

I LOVE dragons! Growing up it was Pete’s Dragon. My favorite now is Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon!

My favorite dragons are the dragons of Pern, with their telepathic bond with their riders. Anne McGaffrey wrote a wonderful world and the dragons are the key to the whole system.
