UPDATE: The winner is…Deb Brown!

I watched a TikTok where a man played a prank on his girlfriend while they were eating at a restaurant. While she was in the bathroom, he paid their bill and then waited for her to return. When she sat, he leaned toward her and dared her to do a “Dine & Dash” where you eat and flee without paying. She was reluctant at first, but then her eyes brightened. They ran from the restaurant and jumped into his car; then she told him, “Go, go, go!” while she patted her chest because she was so frightened and excited. After they pulled away, he told her he had paid, and she said, “Oh, thank God!” He asked her, “But was that fun, right?” Her smile was everything. He’d invited her to do something naughty but had protected her from the consequences. I thought, “Damn, he knows her.” And, “How romantic.”
Okay, so maybe you think that was risky and weird for a date, but it got me thinking about what makes a dinner romantic.
So, today’s challenge: For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, solve the puzzle then tell me what your ideal romantic dinner would look like.

I am not sure what an ideal romantic dinner would look like at my age. A dine and dash wouldn’t be it, though. Maybe he would go all out and cook for me. Maybe a setting like your picture that he set up. His total attention on me while we eat. No getting distracted by his phone or the scenery.

Another trip to Dingle Peninsula in Ireland to a small hole in wall restaurant with some of the best clam chowder and fish and chips that we’ve ever had.

A big juicy steak with asparagus and a baked potato in a nice steak restaurant. And I want them to have a really good chocolate dessert.

A romantic dinner would definitely be on a beach with a light breeze, the waves softly splashing, no need to order because all my favorites would be on the menu.

Oh boy… not sure… maybe dine by the fireside with one of my fav dishes and dessert

4.32. A night in, take away and a great movie.

A tough question. Life is so fast these days, it is hard to slow down. A good meal, quiet atmosphere. Intelligent conversation. Afterwards, sitting watching a fire in the fireplace. Oh–and cheesecake. lol

Not having to shop, prepare or cleanup is a good basis for a romantic dinner – then a either a cozy setting near a fireplace during cool weather (perhaps Italian food) or a scenic outdoor seating overlooking a garden, river or ocean in warmer weather (probably fresh seafood for dinner).

I think it would be either a quiet night in or a somewhat casual meal out, just time to hang out and enjoy each other’s company and the good food.

Small older place, quiet, and maybe candles, and flowers. Nothing exotic.

I am not hard to please for a romantic dinner, grill steaks at home and then spend time drinking one or two adult beverages and just talking
