Saturday Puzzle-Contest: Shark Movies are Summertime Fun!
Saturday, June 15th, 2024

UPDATE: The winner is…Beth!
*~*~*

Do you sometimes wake up with a goal you can’t shake?

I watched a trailer for a movie yesterday and got so excited about it that I messaged the link to my daughter for her to watch. She never replied. So, I take that as she’s not excited about the idea. But how can she not be?! A giant shark in the Seine, IN PARIS?! It’s going to be epic!

Okay, so it’s not as over-the-top as the Sharknado movies (has there ever been anything as gonzo?!), but I can see the possibility of a fun movie night. When the Sharknado films came out every summer for all those years, we made the releases a big event. We’d binge-watch the preceding movies and hunker down with finger-foods and popcorn, our attention glued to the screen. They weren’t meant to be great art, and they weren’t, but oh what fun they were. I have the same reverence for The Meg movies. I just love shark movies and Shark Week. Summer isn’t summer without watching some new shark-disaster movie.

So, this morning, I awoke determined to watch the new movie tonight. I’m pretty sure I can talk the 15-year-old and the 10-year-old into watching with me. We’ll get a huge tub of popcorn and dim the lights. Under Paris will be watched!

For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me whether you love shark movies like I do. Have you watched Jaws, the Sharknado movies…Shark Tale?

P.S. While I was searching for an image for Under Paris, I found another shark movie I have to put on the list! It’s Shark Lake with Dolph Lundgren! It sounds perfectly awful, which means it’s right up my alley. 🙂

Not a big fan of the shark movies but the one in the puzzle looks quite happy. Not sure why but looks to be smiling at something

I do like shark movies. Original Jaws was my fav. I do like underwater movies in general. How long has it been since you watched The Deep? Bruce was the white shark Oscar was the eel.

Not a big shark movie fan. Is this one set during the 2024 Olympics?

Deb–I looked for a “friendly” shark! LOL

Cindy, Jaws is the standard!! The Deep looks wonderfully cheesy!!

Mary! Yes! It’s set during the Olympics, I believe.

I’ve watched all the Jaws movies, but I’m not into the Sharknado ones. I’m a scuba diver and don’t want to put that into my head.

I have seen Jaws! Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Steven Spielberg directing! It kind of hit the must see list. But it cured me for shark movies. Haven’t watched one since. Not my thing!

Have seen all the Sharknado movies. And all the Jaws movies. And several other shark-is-the-nemesis movies over the years.

My hubs is a Jaws fan, but I LOVED the SyFy originals with all the sharks (Ghost Shark was as hilarious as the Sharknado movies). Actually, I loved most of the SyFy original movies that were so ridiculous and fun. lol

I love shark movies! I used to have an annual Sharknado party. I would end the night with such a headache from how bad they are but we always had so much fun!

Absolutely not – shark movies creep me out. I’ve seen clips of Jaws and that was too much for me. Never watched Sharknado or Shark Week shows.

I wouldn’t say I love shark movies but I do watch them. I have seen Jaws several times and all the Sharknados. They are good for a laugh or two.

I have seen Jaws & it’s not something I’ll watch whenever it’s on. Now…Shark Tales??? Yes Iv’e seen that & I love it. I think the animated sharks are much more to my liking. Real sharks just make me nervous…though I’ve ever only seen them in aquariums like at SeaWorld or Busch Gardens… but I’m happy with that.

LOL. Loved reading your answers. There were a few of you who enjoy gory B-movie sharks as much as I do! I finally watched Under Paris! It perfectly fits the genre!

The winner of the GC is…Beth!
