UPDATE: The winner is…Teresa Christianson!
*~*~*
Just popping in to say hi! This is chemo week, so I’m keeping it lowkey. Monday was boring, but not awful, waiting six hours for all the medicine to flow through my brand-new port into my body. The aftereffects started like they did the last time with the “chemo flush” (red face and neck) Tuesday afternoon. I took Pepcid and Benadryl to combat the reaction. In the middle of the night, the muscle and joint aches began. This time it wasn’t as bad because I have new medicine to help me sleep through some of it. Rest is key! Today, the aches continue, but I expect them to abate later tonight and for every day going forward to be a little better. There is a rhythm.
Unlike my last chemo week, I have been able to get some work done, in spurts. I’m happy about that. And I’ve spent more time with family rather than holed up in bed. I’m not comfortable, but I do find happiness in just listening to their noise and joy. My family is loud and boisterous, and it’s impossible not to enjoy and soak up the energy.
Trying to find a theme for today’s puzzle was tough until I glanced around my desk and realized I have seven candles scattered around the top of it. There are more in my bedroom. Most have floral or fruity scents. My daughter likes the ones that smell like baked goods. The 20-year-old likes fresh, grassy scents. Everyone likes different scents whether it’s a candle, a cleanser, or just the smell of fresh-cut grass… But let’s go with candle scents today for a theme. I don’t want to think too much. LOL
Solve the puzzle for a chance to exercise your gray matter, then tell me what sorts of scents you like in your home for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card.

I am allergic to most candles with scents. I tried the soy candles. Oh my gosh talk about sneezing. I found the best candle scented for me is beeswax. The only scent that doesn’t make me sneeze is baked cookie scent.
I found a beeswax scented in cookie sent on Amazon and bought several all at once in different sizes because it’s the only smell I can handle

Any combination of cinnamon or plain cinnamon. Rose, lemon or cherry.

My favorite candle scents include citrus, mild spices, herbs, grasses, evergreens, very light florals (you get the idea). I don’t care for anything heavy or cloying because that would make me sneeze or trigger a migraine. (When visiting a Bath & Body Works I have to go straight in for what I want, make my purchase, and leave.)

Sandalwood, apple cinnamon, lavender & most clean, calming scents.

I’m glad to hear this week was a bit easier for you. I am continuing to send you positive vibes & good thoughts…🙏🏻💜
I have a few warmers around that I use instead of all candles. They’re the same as burning a candle though. I’m pretty much a fruity or baking type of person. Coconut, strawberry, watermelon (most berry smells actually). Apple pie, baking cookies, vanilla, cinnamon….along those lines. I will mix a few scents together to make something new & appealing to me.

I love the scent of burnt salted Carmel but I can’t find it.

So many candles trigger my asthma. I tend to burn orange, grape and cinnamon without problems.

I’m a huge fan of gardenia.

I like the citrus scents, orange and lemon. Maybe some lavender. Those clean, fresh scents work for me. Fresh washed laundry dried outside. Ah yes! Lilacs.

I love cinnamon, peppermint, woodsy scents, and some floral scents…

I love cranberry or linen scents for the house.

I like the lighter fragrances nothing heavy or perfume smelling reminders of outdoors tend to be my pick. Toasted marshmallows, Christmas tree, an apple orchard, the fresh scent when everything is “new” after a good rain. Those are the ones that come to mind that bring comfort.

I like floral or beachy scents in my house.

I have a candle that I have had for almost 20 years. I have never lit it but I would sniff it to calm down. It smells like the beach which is my favorite place in the world. I love the ocean and I love the sand and it has been way to long to get there.

I am a candle fantatic. The only ones I don’t like are patchouli, lavendar and anything that smells like old lady perfume.

I struggle with scents as well. So I generally do not burn them. But vanilla and sometimes a cookie scent are OK.
