I’m finally exiting Chemo Week Hell. I had seven hours of sleep last night and woke feeling weak but not uncomfortable or hurting. Yay. Today, I’ll use every excuse to get up and move around to get my legs feeling stronger. Gosh, I’ll even shower. Just kidding. I do shower. 🙂
Today’s Puzzle Day! And what’s on my mind? Well, the weather. Here we are at the beginning of Fall, and yesterday, the temperature here in Arkansas was 95 degrees. Today, it’s supposed to get to 96.
I’m sorry. Pool season is over. It’s time for sweaters and hot chocolate. In fact, I’m making a grocery list and adding hot cocoa to it because it’s one of those things I love having during cooler weather.
For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift certificate, tell me what you enjoy eating or imbibing when Fall weather truly arrives!

Southwestern Ontario has been nearly 80 for 2 weeks with no rain and weather man says maybe another 2 week in the high 70’s. It’s really odd to be that warm in Southwestern Ontario. I’m still running my AC which I normally turn off the time of year.

Weather is better in Northern Virginia not to hot but not really cold yet. Things seem to be gong according to the current weather plan for this area. AC is still running but expect to change over sometime next month.

Squash. I got my first squash last week, but it has been too hot to enjoy it yet. Fortunately, that will last a bit. Then there is apples, fresh from the tree. So crisp and juicy. Add some apple cider, and well that says fall. Now, as you said, if the weather would co-operate.

I like hot apple cider almost anytime. Usually in the fall, I can get bottled cider locally and do not have to rely on boxed.

I just printed out a recipe yesterday to make my own Hot Chocolate mix. The powdered sugar surprised me but everything else I knew. I like Hot Chocolate all year long so it’s not really special just for fall.
We are going to my husband’s family reunion and we have an auction every year to pay for the next year’s reunion, so I am going to make up a batch and put them in pint jars. Glad you are able to get up and around today.

Fall is Hamburger Stew time for our family, also called Hobo Stew. We grew up on it. Mom could not afford stew meat, so used hamburger instead. With corn bread and ice tea, we are happy.

I like to have a hot chocolate in the evenings once it gets cooled. I do add either a flavored coffee creamer (like caramel) or some Baileys Irish Cream or Rum Chatta to mine though.
