It’s Friday! If I lived alone and didn’t have young ones still in school, I could see how Friday might just be another day. However, the kids were chomping at the bit this morning to get to school and get the day over with so they could start their weekend. I love that charged feeling in the air. We don’t even need to have any big plans; it’s just nice to have the kids underfoot. And I say that and have to laugh because my mother really, really liked it when kids were in school. She had the house to herself. The quiet had to feel like a daily vacation to her. My three siblings and I were a rambunctious bunch.
I don’t feel that way. I love and like the three girls—all of them so different from each other. They get on each other’s nerves, but there’s nothing better than seeing them when they get along. Karoake night in the living room is a true celebration. Even meal times are a celebration with them around. The 16-year-old always leads the conversations once we’re all sitting around that table. “So, Mom, how was your day? Nina?” That’s the start and sometimes we pull out conversation game cards and ask questions, like “If you could meet anyone in history, who would you choose?” The answers are always fun and never the same. Anyway, TGIF! I can’t wait for the weekend to begin!

Sorry, just another day for me. I live alone. Now I know it is Friday, but only because you told me.

I do court appointed custody exchange every week on Fridays so I only get that charged twice a month.😃

No, I no longer anticipate Fridays or holidays. Retired and alone, they are just another day. Sometimes, holidays to the point of annoying. Waiting for the mail–only to remember the PO is closed. In fact, if I didn’t color-code the monthly calendar hanging on my fridge, I would forget dr appts, meetings, SS day!, bloodwork and other events in between. In fact to remember what day it is, I have to think back to a TV show I watched or what my sister did the day before to remember if she is at dialysis or not. Add all together, I know what day it is… sort of. lol

Since I’m retired, I don’t look forward to it as much as I once did. When working, it was always a celebration because a few days off followed. Now I’m off everyday…even though I pick my Grandson up from preschool every afternoon & get my Granddaughter off the bus also. They are at my house everyday then till their parents come from work. I actually miss seeing them on the weekends if they don’t stop by.

Since I am not working now, it doesn’t mean the same as when I was working. But I do kinda enjoy it still.

Yes, I celebrate Friday as it’s the end of the work week and weekends bring more reading time, amongst other things. 🙂

Retired and granddaughter is in college, so it is just another day. I do look forward to it during hunting season when hubby goes to deer camp. LOL

TGIF. I look forward to Fri-YAY every week, knowing I don’t have to work Saturday and Sunday makes it all worth it till Sunday night flashes by and it’s time to get back into work mode again!
