UPDATE: The winner is…Diane Sallans!
*~*~*
Another day, another game! Woot! Since yesterday’s flashback post, I thought matching the covers of some of the Night Fall stories would be fun!
A little home news—we have heat! And just in time since, today, the kids didn’t go to school due to icy roads. We’ll be lazing around for the day. Or they will. I have edits to work on and canvases to gesso for a fun paint-together class with the local art guild.
Did I mention that the 11-year-old has been watching too many glam influencers on TikTok? Yeah, she used her mother’s bikini shaver to “fix” her eyebrows the other night. We had to make an emergency trip into town to find one of those draw-your-own-eyebrows wands at Walmart. The crisis was avoided since my dd is fabulous with makeup. However, we’re adding ten minutes to the morning routine so she doesn’t leave the house with butchered brows.
Kinda reminds me of when I decided to cut my own bangs. Uh-huh. I had one-inch bangs forever!
So, let’s have some fun. Solve the puzzle, then tell me if you ever had a self-made “glam disaster” when you were a kid for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card!

Many years ago when I was probably 9 or 10 my friend and I decided to cut the little girl’s hair bangs who lived next door. Not the best thing we ever did and never did it again.

I don’t remember having any self made mishaps. I did once, after having my hair done by my Mother’s hairdresser, wrap a scarf tightly around my head & laid on a pillow trying to “tame” what he had done to my hair. It was when teasing hair to make it big was in fashion…I had such thick hair that when he teased it, it was just horrible!!! I figured by wrapping it & squishing my head in The pillow I might bring it down some. I told him no teasing…but it was his thing! My youngest daughter did once cut her bangs with a little pair of scissors from her Fisher Price glamor kit. What a disaster that was. But she told everyone that our hairdresser cut her bangs!! 😆🤣

No, I wasn’t adventuresome enough for that. However, I do remember in high school (when the girls all wore their hair long and straight) ironing my hair on the ironing board (this was well before the days of curling/flat irons for hair).
It takes nerves of steel to lay your hair on an ironing board and run a hot iron up to your scalp until you feel heat.
Then, I’d walk outside with my straight hair into southern humidity and poof! back to looking like I stuck my finger in a light socket.
Who needs mishaps when you have mother nature?

Can’t say I ever did. I have straight fine hair, though it was thicker as a kid. I keep it short now. Never did anything stupid by myself or with friends. hen you grow up with ‘The LOOK’, you just knew better.

Not me, but I cut my son’s hair when he was little. It took forever to grow out and erase the mistake.

I had beautiful long hair that when done in ponytails had natural ringlets. Well I chopped on entire ponytail off like right at my scalp. My mother cried almost hysterically as she proceeded to cut all my hair off to the scalp it was not a good look for me at all. When my hair grew back it lost that natural curl and it wasn’t till o was in my 20’s that for whatever reason my curls came back now I can ‘t wear it straight at all- drives me batty. Let’s pretend I already gave the story of plucking my eyebrows too thin. I too had that emergency trip to store for eyebrow pencil just so school photos weren’t a total loss that year. Oh, those were the days.. what I put my poor mom through. SMH 🤦🏻♀️ truly amazed she no we survived together. But I am also convinced this is why God blessed me with 3 boys!

I did not. Was never into glam.

Mainly hair cutting that resulted in a lot more chopped off than originally intended, and one time where a misplaced snip resulted in a cut on my brother’s ear… That wasn’t great…

Probably – I think I “just trimmed” my bangs a few times that were a bit too short. I did do up my dolls with some ink many years ago.

No, never a glamor incident. Wasn’t allowed makeup, pierced ears, nothing.

in my youth I always had a glamour incident lol it happens when you are just a country girl and don’t want to spend a lot of time with make up and hair lol

I was never daring enough to cut or shave something so I was lucky. I was one who played with makeup and sometimes I’d be running out the door trying to remove whatever crazy idea I had in the morning.

Not me, but as kids my older sister was a aspiring beautician and cut our youngest sisters hair, it was terrible, and our mom was pissed, she had to take her to get it fixed properly

Thanks to you who shared your “glam” disasters! Glad my granddaughter and I weren’t the only ones! LOL
