UPDATE: The winner is…Kerry Jo!
*~*~*
I’ve written about different animals in my books. Some have been shifters, some pets; some were best friends, and some were dangerous menaces. There was a polar bear attack in Gun’s Mission and a bear attack in Cyrus. Butterflies were part of the theme in my sexy horror story, Lost Souls. My many cowboys have ridden horses and herded cattle. I’ve written a couple of dragons along the way (Dragon’s Desire, Arctic Dragon). I’ve had dogs working as partners to heroes (Big Sky SEAL, Guarding Hannah). And yes, I love writing shifters and trying to blend animal with human traits. But I’ve truly loved showing the bond between a dog and his handler, as in Guarding Hannah. Pierce was the hero of that story.

You know, I think these occasional memory games are actually working for me. I whipped through this one rather easily. Wahoo! As animals I have enjoyed in stories . . . I am an eclectic reader so I have read about all the animals you mentioned, some of them even in your books. I have generally enjoyed all of them. But, the ones I liked the best are the service animals, the hero animals, the animals that are almost human in the way the respond and take care of their person. Wow! Looking at that statement, it can cover the shifter stories and the dragon stories as well as the the handler/dog stories.

I think dogs. Like dogs the best.

I love to read any shifter they all are unique in their own way

The bear attacking Cyrus had me laughing so hard I had tears. I haven’t read much of your shifters, but I probably own them if they were in paperback. You never know I still may read them although it’s not my thing. At some point, I’ll have all the books read in my library maybe when I stop buying them.

Dogs. The cuddles, loyalty and unconditional love they have for their owner is unmatched, just MHO. Mine know my schedule, surround me while I work and let me know when it’s time to get up from computer and pay them attention! As for your stories I have to agree with the Bear sequence in Animal was really funny to me and loved the dog in Guarding Hannah!

I enjoy all kinds of animals – as long as they don’t attack anything!

I like all kinds too, mythical and real.

I love dogs in books but sometimes an author will come up with something unusual and funny. I like a surprise.

In non-shifter books, dogs are usually the easiest to include, but some more exotic animals can make a story more interesting.. In shifter books, bears or dragons are my fave.

I love animals of mostly all kinds in books, except snakes as I am not a snake person. Bats are fascinating and all zoo animals can have interesting back stories and be centered around conservation as well. I love Shifter Zoo stories.

I love shifter books, polar bears are a favorite of mine

Thanks for the cute puzzle! As for memorable animals, I think household pets like dogs and cats are definitely the most common, but I’ve loved Erin Nicholas’s Boys of the Bayou and Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series, which have included everything from river otters to penguins to alpacas to giraffes… it’s been a blast to read.
