The winners of my latest contest are listed at the bottom of this post!
The big news of the week was the surprise release of Veiled Alliance. Here’s hoping you all ordered your copies along with the copies of Un, Deux, Trois, Menage! last week! Hey, a girl can hope! Anyway, I spent the latter part of the week trying to get the word out about my new print book.
I was hampered this week by the temporary demise of my satellite. The three days I was without Internet could have been great, uninterrupted writing time, but I had things in the air that needed to be communicated, so I parked for a day at my daughter’s to pre-post blogs and do some back and forth on another project.
Yesterday, I spent the whole day in Little Rock, shopping with my daughter and attending the pharaoh’s exhibit at the Arkansas Arts Center (I’ll talk about that tomorrow).
I only managed to finish one chapter of one book for the whole week. Very, very sad indeed. I’m almost afraid to set down my goals again in case some other catastrophe besets me, but here goes anyway.
This is what I hope to achieve this week:
* Finish EC Quickie
* Begin work on Dream Lover short story
* Work on characters and plot for Viking story
* Write lesson on queries for FFnP class
* Place order for promo items for Lora Leigh’s Readers Appreciation Weekend
That is, after I plow through 1,002 emails that accumulated in my inbox while my Internet was out. I’m house-sitting for a friend on Lake Hamilton for the holiday weekend. I’m hoping the change of place will help me keep my nose to the grindstone.
So, back to the winners of my “While Delilah’s Away” contest. Thanks to everyone who commented on my blog and facebook. All your entries counted. The winners of the $25.00 gift certificates, by random number generator, are…Christine Rivero and Beth C! Ladies, be sure to email me so that I know where to send the eGift certificates! Congratulations!

While my Internet was out of commission, another book was released!
Surprise! I got a call from Shayla Kersten telling me all about it. I even made her describe the cover down to the smallest detail because I hadn’t seen it. All’s well. The cover’s HAWT! I have my own copies on order.
Click on the cover if you have the urge to add this to your collection. The two stories in this book are among those I’m most proud of. The action is intense, the characters kick ass. Enjoy!
Here are some things that others have said about the Veiled Alliance stories:
“…A turbulent relationship and sexy, spooky thrills await readers in SIN’S GIFT…This is a well written and engrossing tale with complex characters who have hidden depths. Enter into other realms with the highly recommended SIN’S GIFT.”
RRT Erotic on SIN’S GIFT
“…Wow, I loved this novella. It’s fabulously exciting and a fast, exhilarating read…I recommend this book to everyone that loves hot, sexy paranormal story. I love Delilah Devlin’s books and this is one of her best yet…”
5 Hearts, The Romance Studio on SIN’S GIFT
“…LOCKDOWN was pure perfection…As good as the sex is I found myself totally immersed in the evil shadowing the three characters. I was downright riveted to my pages…I will recommend this book to everyone I know, it’s just that good!”
5 Stars, Manic Readers on LOCKDOWN
“…Lockdown is another hot read not to be missed…The creativity and sexual energy in this supernatural erotic tale is amazing. I was caught up in the mystery and the foreshadowing evil in the story. All three characters were wonderfully done, and I loved their hardcore attitudes. This is a read you’ll not want to pass up.”
9 of 10, Novelspot on LOCKDOWN

This is an excerpt from the last of the Dark Realm novels set to release in September. Enjoy!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Driven by insatiable desire, a werewolf will enter hell to rescue a princess captured by the Master of Demons…
Headstrong and proud—a royal creature of sinuous grace, all primal instinct and lethal beauty—the shapeshifter Gabriella has agreed to serve as emissary to the vampires who rule in the shadows of the New Orleans night. But she cannot resist the pull of the demon she glimpses on the other side of a mirror, and she is drawn to him hungrily, through a magical portal into the Land of the Dead. Now an eternal nightmare awaits Gabriella at the hands of a mesmerizing dark lord who satisfies her every erotic need…while slowly devouring her soul.
The powerful warrior wolf Guntram Brandt is responsible for the safety of the vanished princess he swore allegiance to years before. Yet it is more than a soldier’s loyalty that pulls Guntram down into the depths of nightmare—for Gabriella ignites within him a burning animal passion that must be satisfied.
But when offered an escape, will she follow her rescuer to safety—torn between her lustful obsession with the dark lord who has enslaved her and her fierce sensual attraction to the only wolf who could ever master her?
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Gabriella pounded the demon’s back, her head still tucked close, until she grew weary. Her body shuddered with her strained, quivering gasps and soft sobs. The pummeling was only tiring her, while the monster that carried her didn’t flinch once or slow his steady pace. When sunlight warmed her upturned bottom, she turned her head to take a peek.
They’d left the dim hall and entered blazing sunshine. Beneath her was a walkway paved with golden sandstone and framed by crenellated rock. Beyond the notched wall to one side spread a sandy desert, to the other side stretched a fortress so enormous it took away her breath.
This was Hell?
The Master of the Demons ducked, and she grabbed for his waist to keep from swinging against doorframe. The stone-walled passage led to a stairwell that circled downward. At a wooden door, he kicked it open and strode inside, bending farther to deposit her in the middle of a nest of satin pillows.
She scrambled backwards on a large bed as soon as he released her, scraped away her tears with the backs of her hands, and narrowed her eyes. “I don’t know what you think is going to happen,” she said, her voice low and fierce, “but I’ll fight you.”
His strange dark eyes glittered, and he snorted. Then he turned away, and at last, she drew a deep breath, ready to gather her scattered wits and figure out just how bad her situation was.

Here’s an excerpt from my straight-to-Kindle experiment that I hope to have out in July!
One adventurous little submissive is just what the bosses need…
Raelie might be a submissive in search of just the right Dom, but she’s not the kind to sit back and wait for the right man to happen. When she gets the chance to fill in as Bryce Caldwell’s executive assistant, she decides some subtle seduction is needed to see if he dominates the bedroom the same way he does the office.
Bryce can’t keep his mind off the sexy blonde sitting just outside his office. Especially not after the security cameras in the copier room catch Raelie “misappropriating” office property. A little disciplinary action leads to a whole lot of complication while he tries to find out whether she’s the right assistant to fulfill a special vacancy. Add a second round of interviews, and suddenly, Bryce is finding out he’s not the only one who’s not sure who’s really in charge.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The little red light on the telephone blinked twice. And like a dog trained to recognize the shake of her dinner bowl, Raelie Wood’s attention was arrested.
Deep within her core, her body began the steady ascent toward full-blown arousal. A thousand butterflies settled in her stomach, madly fluttering their tiny wings. Her breaths shortened to excited little gasps and shivered through her breasts. The juncture of her thighs swelled with lush promise, a pulse thrumming there, slow but insistent.
She’d waited two whole days for a summons. Two days while she’d quietly attended to the office duties, proving why she’d been bumped up from the floating secretarial staff to fill in for Bryce Caldwell’s executive assistant while the woman was away on her honeymoon.
Raelie had seen to every duty on his EA’s meticulous checklist, and this morning, had already typed the scribbled notes he’d left in her inbox the previous night when he’d finally left the office. Not that she’d seen him leave.
Because she didn’t want to seem overeager, she’d left her desk at precisely five o’clock PM, even though she’d wanted nothing more than to stay late, strip naked, and slip into her boss’s office to show just how diligent a secretary she could be.
The thought of his shocked stare trailing down her nude body was a delicious one; however, she knew that wasn’t the way to get what she wanted from her no-nonsense employer. For once, she’d exercise a little subtlety.

Early this afternoon I noticed I hadn’t received any new emails, and that just never happens. I called my Internet provider, and after two and half freaking hours talking to a very nice Indian who had me run every diagnostic in his notebook, we finally threw in the towel and decided a technician needed to come out to fix it. I have satellite, and I live in the boonies. So, it might be as long a week before I’m up again.
I made the trip to Hot Springs to visit my daughter and use her satellite to post this message. And I’m pre-posting several more to tide you all over until I can be here live again. To keep you stopping by I’m running a contest. Here are the rules:
Stop by every day and leave me a note. One posting = one chance to win.
Simple right? I’ll give away two $25.00 Amazon.com gift certificates to two lucky winners.
I’ve pre-posted excerpts and sneak peeks at some things that will be released in the coming months. You’ll be entertained. I can’t wait to see what you all have to say. And if some of you would be kind enough, please hit the tweet button every day to get the word out!

Doesn’t the guy on the cover look like Michael Weston from Burn Notice, staring down as lightning bolts shoot from his pants? That was my first thought when I saw the cover of Damned, Delicious and Dangerous. This book came out in May of 2008 and was a collaboration among friends. Stories by Lisa Renee Jones and Megan Kerans also appear in this volume.

“…A tale rife with passion, THE DEMON’S LORD CLOAK will leave a reader breathless and counting the hours until their own true loves return. Be prepared for scintillating sex and delectable dialogue, Ms. Devlin writes her own brand of hot happily ever after…”
5 Cups, Heather, Coffee Time Romance
Men of darkness, men of passion…trapped by temptation and bound by desire. No woman can refuse their erotic invitation for sexual pleasure…
Bound and naked, Voletta has every reason to fear the mysterious man holding her in his arms. Instead his brooding presence intrigues her, his hard body excites her—and his rough touch arouses her…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“Seems a shame. A beautiful girl like her.”
The voice, Edgard’s, she remembered, came from right beside her.
“Just get the trunk off the cart,” Martin whispered harshly.
Voletta tried to lift her head, but the movement made her nauseous. She pried open her eyelids and found herself looking down at a rutted track. Graying daylight stabbed like tiny daggers at the back of her eyes.
The air around her was damp and cold. Her skin prickled–she was naked! A fog had rolled in, droplets catching on her breasts and cheeks. The bastards had taken her cloak!
She forced up her head and stared after the men riding atop a cart rolling down a long, steep trail. Then she noticed other things, her hands were tied behind her; a rope was wound around her waist to keep her standing against a pole.
She pulled at the ropes around her wrists to no avail. Should she call out? Naked, she felt terribly vulnerable…human.
Then she heard a sound…soft, measured footfalls.
In front of her a shadowy form appeared beyond a dark iron gate at the end of the trail. The outline of the figure shimmered, then solidified before her widening gaze. She blinked. Maybe the apparition had just been a floating tendril of fog that had given her that impression.
The fog cleared for a moment to reveal the imposing figure of a man.
Voletta’s breath caught. The man stood still, only feet away, his hard-edged face devoid of emotion, his lips drawn into a thin line.
