Losing her balance, her knee slammed into the stage and her torso followed.  Planting her palms in front of her, she lifted her shoulders and breasts realizing she landed right smack in front of a customer.  The lights played havoc with her vision.  Not that it surprised her to have a man ogling her breasts, but she felt the intensity in his stare.  Raising her eyes, she glimpsed a furor in his eyes before he became enveloped in darkness again.  Looking down she noticed her necklace she never took off rotated from behind her neck and under her hair.  Her brother gave it to her and this man focused on it.

She figured it cost a fair amount, Australian Opals, a unique, lovely piece, but not something anyone might take note of the way this man fixated on it.  It meant more to her because it came from her brother.  He bought it years before he met his wife, April.  Back when he and his hot best friend, Jake took impromptu road trips.  This he picked up in Santa Fe.  Before she had time to react to her revelation, fingers clamped down over her upper arms.  He dragged her off the stage.  Kicking her legs, her feet, she searched for anything to halt this onslaught.  He had a tight grip on her which gave him the ability to keep her upper body from crashing with the table he vacated.  Her lower half didn’t fare as well.  Her left knee plopped on the table causing the table to rock and flip to its side.  This rotated her body smashing her to the floor on her right thigh.

It didn’t end there.  Their eyes met for a second.  Long enough for her to understand this wasn’t over.  Bending toward her, his left arm encircled her waist hauling her up from the dirty concrete floor.  Her feet dangled in front of him, her doe-tailed butt in the air.  Even with the music blaring, it didn’t mute the crack of the first thwack against her bare flesh.  She yelped unable to fathom he spanked her, a hard spanking, and in public.  He got a few more strikes in before the bouncers arrived.

Finding herself on her hands and knees, she looked up in time to see him receive a punch in the jaw.  “No!  Don’t hurt him!” she screamed as they forced him out of the building.  By the time she found the ability to stand, she ran out to find him, but didn’t see him anywhere.  Her knees shook and she found it difficult to breathe.  Leaning forward she rested her hands on her upper thighs.  Jake.  When was the last time she saw him before him tonight?  When she was in high school and he came over to the house for Thanksgiving?  Would he tell her brother that he saw her here?  She never expected anyone to find out.  With Jose’s Jewels being an hour and half from her hometown, she thought she could keep it a secret.

Yes, today is my birthday. <wink>

Okay. Birthdays. More specifically…my birthday. While I’m not going to a reveal just how old I am, I will tell you I remember (barely) where I was when President Kennedy was shot, when the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show – yes this means I remember Ed Sullivan as well – the (first) Hula Hoop craze and watching news feeds from the Vietnam War. In other words, I’m part of the 80,000,000 who make up the *Baby Boom* generation…those individuals born between the years 1946 and 1964. People like Merle Streep, Madonna, Oprah and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Now I don’t know about you, but I’ve never really had an accurate perception of age – or at least not an accurate perception of MY age. I find myself doing things today that I did twenty years ago when I was…well…twenty years younger. Things like sitting cross-legged in my easy chair. (I don’t think I ever saw my mother sitting cross-legged, not even on a picnic…) Things like giggling. Not laughing…giggling. Things like running through leaves in the fall just to hear the whishy, crunchy sound. Things like wanting to buy a Jeep. Not a Jeep Cherokee mind you, but a four-door Wrangler Rubicon (great statement vehicle, huh?) complete with a badass stick shift between the bucket seats.

What’s causing my age misperception? I believe the answer comes in the 80,000,000 number I quoted above. Companies understand they can’t afford to alienate such a large number of customers. They know it’s in their best interest to cater to this huge – and aging – demographic. That’s why Diane Keaton and Andie MacDowell (two more Boomers) are spokeswomen for L’Oréal makeup and hair products.

But probably the real reason I don’t have a good grasp on my age is because I don’t want to have a good grasp on my age. It was the same when I was younger…I never wanted to “act my age.” Why change now? Things are just getting interesting… <wink>

Hi! Have you ever thought of using dirty talk to spice things up in the bedroom? But maybe you’re not quite sure how to do it.

I used to think dirty talk meant using dirty words, but it’s more subtle than that.

When I started writing erotic romance, I found I liked to have my heroine pushed beyond her comfort level, to say things she wasn’t used to saying.  Often this was because the hero pushed her to express what she wanted in bed. To focus on what gave her pleasure… and not be too embarrassed to ask for what she wanted.

When I wrote my series, Dirty Talk, I delved into this a lot more. With this series, I wrote four erotic audios where a man with a sexy voice is talking to a woman with the express purpose of arousing her. The concept was that the heroine, Sonny, found one of these audios on an erotica site (think Literotica).

I actually hired a narrator to make the audios. They’re each 10-15 minutes long and they are HOT!!! (I include a link to a sample of one of the audios further down the post.)

After creating these audios, I did some thinking about how I worked dirty talk into stories and I came up with these tips. For each, I’ve included some examples that my characters have said in my writing.

1) Use words that push you or your lover’s comfort level.

Examples:

“Please touch me,” she said.

“Where do you want me to touch you?”
“I want you to touch my…” Her cheeks flushed. “Uh… pussy.”

2) Tell your lover what you want to do to him/her, and vice versa.

Examples:
“I’m going to drive my hard cock so deep into you, you’ll scream my name.”

“I want to see your cock. To touch it.”

3) Tell your lover what you want him/her to do to you, and vice versa.

Examples:

“Please fuck me.” “Please drive your hard cock into me.”

“I want to feel your mouth on my cock. To feel it slide between your lips. Then I want you to suck it.”

4) Tell your lover what effect the things you’re doing together are having on you, using language that evokes arousing images and sensations.

Examples:

“Watching you stroke your hard nipples is so fucking hot. My cock is rock hard and aching. ”

“Oh, I’m so wet.”

5) Say things that raise the urgency level.

Examples:

“I need to slide into your velvety warmth before I burst.”

“Fuck me harder. Ohhh, I’m so close.”

6) Tell the kind of things (such as fantasies) that arouse you.

Examples:

“Just the thought of watching my friend drive his cock into you is making my cock fucking hard.”

“I’ve been a bad girl.” She grinned. “You need to punish me.”

7) Try having one of you take control verbally. (This is the D/s type of scenario.)

Examples:
“Don’t come until I tell you.”

“Do exactly as I say.”

8 ) Say things as part of, or to incite, a type of fantasy role-playing that turns you on.

Example:

“Oh, Daddy, that feels so good.”

“This isn’t part of the school uniform.”

He pulled open her blouse to reveal her bra. He ran his thumb over one swollen nub and a shocking jolt of sensation stabbed through her, straight to her core.

“You like it when I touch you there?”

“Oh, yes, I do, sir.”

He frowned. “You are a very dirty girl.”

9) Playful teasing. For example, to build anticipation, to make your lover feel desirable and attractive, or just to make it more fun!

Examples:

“Oh, your cock is sooo big and hard.”

“You want me to drive my cock into you right now, don’t you?”

“Oh, yes. Please, Sir.” She almost cried out when he pulled away.

A slow smile crept along his fave. “Maybe later.”

10) Make sexy sounds. Moans. Soft sighs. Whimpers.

Just do what comes natural with this one! 😉

Excerpt from Family Values…

For Angelina Flores, stepping across the threshold of the MacAfee ranch house was a moment filled with both nostalgia and pain. The dull thud her boots made on the natural, planed-oak flooring was a familiar sound—and not one she’d heard anywhere else. The faint smells of beeswax and Pine-Sol mixed with the scent of the freshly cut roses in the Mexican crockery atop the rugged fireplace mantel. If she closed her eyes, she could imagine herself at ten years old, running with her muddy boots through the family room to tell her mother about her day, about the animals and the cowboys—her new friends, who’d let her ride behind them on their tall horses.

Her childhood had felt enchanted. And she’d had three handsome princes fawning over her, showering her with pretty clothes and dolls. Even then, she’d dreamed of growing up and having a fairytale wedding, and when they’d teased her and asked her which one she’d choose for her husband, she’d asked why she couldn’t choose them all.

How prophetic that now seemed. As, when she’d approached graduation from high school, two of the McAfee men had suddenly let her know of their individual interest.

Oh, she’d been flattered. And thrilled. Until the moment she’d realized she really would have to choose. Then she’d been filled with dread, because she didn’t want to hurt any of them, and she didn’t know how she could favor one over the other, especially when she was also interested in the third.

Angelina shook her head to rid herself of the painful memories and entered with trepidation, wondering what her welcome would be like once the brothers returned home. The last time she’d been here, in this room, she’d been led through it by a hard hand clamped around her upper arm. She’d been escorted crying and half-dressed back to her room off the kitchen, and then her door closed in her face.

The next morning, she’d been taken by the same hard-faced man through the back door to his Expedition parked beside the porch. The chill in the morning air not nearly as cold as his final goodbye at the Dallas airport.

She’d been eighteen, and the only place she’d ever called home was her home no more.

Angelina took a deep breath and stepped farther into the room. She set her suitcase on the floor beside her and tilted her head to listen for any sounds of movement in the house. Her mother had said the MacAfee boys were at an auction in San Angelo, and that she’d have the place to herself for the weekend, to acclimate and to shore up her nerves.

“Mama, you know why I can’t be there,” she’d said in the early morning hours, holding back her hair and squinting at the digital alarm beside her bed.

“I have no one else I can trust, mija. It’s been years. Things have changed. You have changed. No one will say a word about the past. Have I ever asked anything of you, Angel?”

Angelina’s shoulders had slumped. “I don’t know if I can go there,” she’d whispered.

“I know it will be hard, Angel. I know. But you must take my place and look after the boys while I am away. Do this for me, please?”

She’d taken a deep breath and gripped her cellphone harder. “How long? How long must I stay?”

“Your Aunt Cecilia is having a hysterectomy. I might be weeks.”

Angelina shook her head. Her stomach twisted in a knot, and sudden nausea made her skin clammy. “I’ll have to call my boss. Damn, he’ll probably let me go. I just started there.”

“Gracias, mija. You will see. You worry for nothing. The past is the past.”

But the past wasn’t so distant that she didn’t feel the same longing as she gazed around the room for dreams she’d shattered when she’d followed her heart to make the biggest mistake of her life. And she would never forget the shame.

After picking up her bag, she trudged toward the kitchen and beyond it, to the small bedroom that had been her own when she was a child and the world had seemed such a bright place, full of romantic possibilities.

But princes didn’t exist, at least not in her realm. And she wasn’t a starry-eyed chatterbox anymore, eager to sit on certain cowboys’ knees. She was a college graduate. Had her own job—maybe. Her own place. She’d made a life for herself. The fact she still felt pangs of loneliness late at night when she went to bed alone was something she’d eventually outgrow. Someday. And somewhere far from the MacAfee ranch.

When my old publisher (Samhain Publishing) closed its doors earlier this year, I was saddened. I loved the company, loved the woman in charge, and I had all these books that came back to me, almost overnight. I’ve been steadily re-editing, purchasing art for covers, getting them formatted, and re-releasing them. It’s costly and time-consuming, and I’m still trying to get most of them out before the end of the year, but it was TOO MUCH!
