I love the run-up to the holidays! Everyone’s so busy! For the first time ever, I have all my gifts purchased in advance. I have a few left to make (I dabble in jewelry!), but that’s part of the fun, too—trying to figure out what will please the women and girls in this family. But then I wondered what I might do for my online friends and readers! Here’s what I came up with! (Lots of exclamation marks here, I know, but I’m excited!!!!)

Tara Toomey had offered the last time she paid him a visit, for old time’s sake, but he’d turned her down because he’d still had just enough pride and just enough affection for his old friend not to want to use her like that.

Today, she wouldn’t make it past the door. The thought of her blond flyaway curls wrapped around his dick made him throb with anticipation.

As she slowly made her way up the winding, rutted road, Mac McDonough closed his eyes and turned his face into the gusting, humid air and inhaled the fresh scent of the coming rain—a  fierce reminder of just how far he’d come.

Kink is fantastic!

It just is.

I know people are scared of it or shy away from it because they think it’s TOO MUCH but I’m here to tell you that’s 110% inaccurate.

When you run a marathon do you just go out and run 26.2 miles? Of course not. You start small and build up your strength and your body has to learn what it’s supposed to do.

How it’s supposed to react and how to process what is happening while you’re running or doing cardio or strength training.

When you decide to be a doctor are you just *POOF* a doctor one day?? Of course not. You go to school and you learn small and then big and then BIGGER! You learn from others. You have mentors. You find study partners and lab groups to belong to and you figure it all out together.

Kink is no different.

You start small. You don’t just bust out with a single ankle, self-suspension on your first outing. You don’t get whipped by a single tail for 45 minutes at your first play party. And you don’t do a 2-hour needle plat scene with someone you’ve never met when you’ve never picked up a needle before. Never done research before. Never watched it before.

So you start small and see what you think Then you can move around to other things and find out what YOUR kink is. You can just watch. In videos or in person. There are sooo many options.

And I know how much kink is a part of my life and how AMAZING it can be, and I hope everyone can find some piece of it to make their life better and, hopefully, a bit spicier too!

Oh! One more thing!

BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF!

I’m not saying you have to know exactly what you’re doing from the word go. Or where you’re going to end up. Or what you’re going to BE as you go through this journey. But be honest with yourself throughout the journey. Be honest with what you like and what you don’t like. Saying you like something or don’t like something because you think you’re supposed to will only create hurt feelings, Yours and the others you interact with.

That’s not fair to anyone. So go out there and own it, my peeps!!

November’s shaping up to be one busy month!

First, November is NaNoWriMo—which is a writing challenge that causes authors around the world to lose their minds as they rush to finish 50,000 words! Yes, I accepted this year’s challenge. Nag me to make sure I hit that mark! As of this morning, I’m at 7029 words! Woot!

Next, I’m leading a FREE Mind Mapping workshop for authors November 6-12. If you’re a writer wanting to take a hard look at all the things you want to accomplish in 2018—start with this fun exercise!

Then, of course, there’s Thanksgiving… I am heading to Virginia with my dd’s family to celebrate with the rest of the Devlin clan. Vacay doesn’t mean I won’t be writing! Let’s see if I can figure out how to fit it all in!

Lastly, I have three releases this month! The first came Thursday. Love cowboys? Love reunion stories? Older woman/younger man? Well, you should enjoy this one! Ignore the clunky title. I promise it’s sexier than it sounds! ~DD

I think I’ve mentioned this before… I love writing short stories. I began my career as an author writing novels. Then browsing some calls for submissions, I ran across calls for short stories. I wrote one. Then another. And then another. I quickly discovered I loved writing them. They gave me a chance to reach THE END very quickly, which was hugely satisfying. They gave the chance to try out different genres to see whether I enjoyed writing them. Plus, they gave me stress relief.

Very soon, I compiled quite a backlist of shorties, and I was tempted to try my hand at editing my own anthologies. I put together several projects for Cleis Press, but when the company sold, I decided to release my own personally-curated books. I find it highly enjoyable developing the theme and seeking authors to write stories.

These anthologies were never meant to be money-makers. Instead, I wanted a way to help authors, and me, expand our reader base by sharing our readers and encouraging them all to pick up every one of these books, so I offer them for a very low price to recoup expenses then offer them for free. There’s little risk that way. If you love only one story in 15, it’s still worth the asking price, but I’m betting you’ll discover authors you want to follow.
