I hope someday to write more cowboy stories set around the Palo Duro Canyon. If you’ve never been, it’s the second largest canyon in the U.S., and you can’t miss an amazing good time—cowboys and one big natural phenomenon.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Tough and rough, tall and dark, these are men a woman never forgets. Experience pleasure like no other in the arms of a cowboy…
Mustang Man by Vonna Harper
Acclaimed horse trainer Miguel Perez is used to the unexpected from his work with wild mustangs. But nothing prepares him for the bolt of desire he feels when he meets Dawn Glass, as he’s eager to work his sexual healing on her in every possible way.
Long Hard Ride by Melissa MacNeal
Rodeo rider Michael White House is grateful when Diana Grant stops to pick him up in the middle of a rainstorm. But with one touch his gratitude quickly turns to lust and an uncontrollable desire to lay her down and ride her hard all night long. “Hot Blooded” – Rancher Adam Youngblood is always happy to help a damsel in distress. But before he’ll pull the sweetly curvaceous and fiercely independent Cass McIntyre to safety, he demands promises of unconditional sexual surrender.
Hot Blooded by Delilah Devlin
Rancher Adam Youngblood is always happy to help a damsel in distress. But before he’ll pull the sweetly curvaceous and fiercely independent Cass McIntyre to safety, he demands promises of unconditional sexual surrender…
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
When the first small drops began to fall, Cass McIntyre welcomed the light shower the forecasters had predicted. Already halfway up the route she’d chosen, she’d worked up a nice sweat.
The rain quickly cooled her skin, which was caked in a thick, itchy layer of canyon dirt and chalk. The lazy breeze accompanying the rain fanned the burning cuts on her bare legs and arms, giving her a mental boost of energy.
After another fifteen feet into her ascent—chilled and achy now and getting a little impatient with the worsening conditions—she found a narrow ledge. She unhooked her biner from the rope, and decided to wait out the cloudburst, a rare occurrence in the Panhandle and extremely deadly because the rock face she climbed had become as slippery as mud.
She took small comfort in the phrase she’d heard over and over since she’d first moved to Canyon, Texas that ran like a mantra through her head. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute.
Her mistake had been believing that piece of homespun advice.
Not that she was anything more than mildly annoyed at this point. The awe-inspiring view from her perch above the canyon floor placated her restless nature and soothed the deep ache in her chest that had choked her at the start of the climb.
Low-hanging clouds obscured the sunlight and provided an unexpected cooling to a hot spring day. Soft, gray mist filled the Palo Duro Canyon, softening the light and air, the moisture causing a burst of brilliant color to erupt from the fading wildflowers carpeting the rough terrain—bright orange from Mexican hat and Indian blanket, and a cheery yellow daisy-like flower whose name escaped her at the moment.
Determined to salvage some enjoyment from her adventure, she settled on the ledge, dangling her legs over the side, and ignored the water soaking through her thin tee and shorts.
Half an hour into the storm that had grown steadily more insistent, she kissed off making the summit and planned a quick rappel to the distant hollow below.
However, as she unwound her long rope from the straps of her backpack for a hasty descent, her narrow perch disintegrated. Rock made fragile by the water splintered into rough shards and gravel that tumbled down the sheer precipice.
Cass dropped the rope and jammed her hand into a crevice in the rock to anchor herself while she reached beside her for her pack. But she was too late.
More of the ledge crumbled. The backpack slid away, leaving her stranded with only the shorter rope she’d used between cams—not nearly long enough to attempt a descent.

**Quick update: Sue Barr has a short interview with me up on her website:
Sue Barr’s blog
Remember, you have to post to win. The winner will be announced on Thursday! Details are in yesterday’s post.
There are many reasons why this story will satisfy. Here’s a threesome you can sigh over.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
While hiding her true identity, Maddie must seduce the mysterious Lord Garon to cement their marriage contract to ensure she won’t be returned into her lecherous stepfather’s care.
Fresh from Crusade in Palestine, Lord Garon has a secret he must hide, a hunger that must be fed, and a dark and uncertain future. Having shed himself of a fiancée he never met, he’s home to lick his wounds. The only thing he wants is a warm-blooded meal—but the new housekeeper is strangely insistent on giving him much more.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
This cloudy day, he’d sent Raymond ahead to ready the vacant cottage he’d chosen for Maddie’s introduction to Raymond. Garon fought his own jealousy but knew this had to happen to ensure her future. He’d school his face into a pleasant mask, hand her into Raymond’s keeping and leave them alone. Garon thought that maybe Raymond had fallen under her spell as well because he’d noted the leap of heat in his cousin’s gaze when he’d finally told him of the plan to impregnate his lady.
Maddie drew her horse alongside his. “What is the matter? Your eyes are as dark as the thunderclouds above.”
“There’s nothing wrong.” He forced a smile. “And we’re almost there.”
She glanced around the clearing they entered, eying the cottage. Raymond had spent days cleaning it, thatching the roof and delivering a bed and bedding to make it comfortable for Maddie. Smoke wafted from the chimney.
Raymond stepped out of the cottage, his expression shuttered. His gaze went to Garon, to whom he gave a short nod, and then he stepped forward and helped Maddie from her horse.
“Milady,” he said softly, setting her on the ground but not removing his hands from her slender waist fast enough to suit Garon.
“Raymond? What is this place?” She eyed him then turned to her husband. The woman was too clever. A frown knitted the soft space between her brows. “It’s too soon.”
Raymond stood aside, not venturing a comment. But his dark gaze did sweep Maddie’s tall, spare frame.
Garon knew what he saw. Maddie’s figure and her appeal had blossomed. Her soft skin, tawny hair and long, coltish legs drew the gazes of many of his men as she strode by. Her long, loose-jointed gait sprang with a joy she was unable to suppress, making her all the more lovely. To hold such beauty, such vibrant energy, made a man feel worthy.

To celebrate the release of FIRST KNIGHT, I’m running a contest.
Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a handmade ribbon-and-bead bookmark and a signed copy of the backlisted book of your choice from my Ellora’s Cave selection.
For some of y’all who may only have read my contemporary stories, you may not know that I LOVE dabbling in a medieval tale. They are my personal favorites to read, and I collect history books about the time period like my mother does hobnail glassware.
I’ve wanted to dive into the My Immortal Knight series again, but I wanted to do something different with it, so I took the story back, way back. And I thought it might be fun to tell a parallel storyline of troubles in the past, that may spill over into my knights’ present at some time. These prequel stories will have everything you loved about the MIKs—uber-alpha heroes, feisty heroines and dangers lurking nearby. This particular story develops into a very sexy threesome.
I hope you enjoy my little leap of faith. The story releases on Wednesday, and I’d love to hear your impressions and whether you will want more.

Garon approached her, stopping in front of her, forcing her gaze to rise. When he was assured he had her full attention, he bent toward her. “There will be no more secrets. If you have any left for me to discover, you will tell me now.”
Maddie’s wide, wet eyes reflected regret, but the longer he hovered over her, the deeper her breaths became.
Her tongue darted out to wet her lips. “I have but one secret, husband.” She leaned close enough he caught the heady aroma of her arousal. Her cheeks flushed. “I think you know it already.”
“Are you attempting to distract me, wife?”
Her eyelashes swept down. “Am I?”
“You only delay your punishment,” he murmured, breathing in her scent and hardening.
Her belly rubbed against him, sliding over his rising cock. “You delay our pleasure.”
Garon ground his teeth. “Remove your clothes.”
The corners of her mouth twitched, but she stepped back and shed her clothing slowly. When she stood nude in front of him, he bit back a groan. Her small, round breasts quivered with each ragged inhalation.
He raised his hand, palm up. She slid hers over it. When he wrapped his fingers tightly around it, she only breathed more deeply.
“I should beat you,” he growled.
Her eyelids drifted down. Her head tilted, mouth pouting for a kiss. “Should you?”
“You endangered this keep, our people.”
Her eyes widened and she stared at his face. “I believed in you.” She licked her lips
again. “You won’t beat me.”
He firmed his jaw. “No. Never. But don’t take that as lenience.”
“I won’t. I promise. No more secrets.”
He led her to the bed, debated turning her over his knee, but his cock throbbed with need. He knew a better way to bring her to submission.

Post a comment here today for a chance to win any of the My Immortal Knight books currently available on my website. Then head to After Midnight Fantasies for a second chance to win and a second excerpt!
I’m blogging in two places today, but thought it might be a great time to start talking about my new book coming out April 28th, First Knight. FK was originally published as a short story in 2005, but I decided I really needed to get back inside it and tell the rest of the tale! So FK is now novella length and tons more satisfying with a very tasty ménage. I hope you’ll be looking for it because I’d like to know if you want more of these medieval tales of knights and their ladies with a little side of blood.

“Do you undress to bathe all our guests?” he rumbled.
“I, um, didn’t want to get my clothing wet,” Maddie said, not answering his question because he was the first, and she didn’t want him knowing it. Feeling self-conscious beneath his stare, she wrapped her arms around her belly before she realized the movement pushed up her scant bosom. She quickly lowered her arms and bent to pick up the clothing she had tossed to the floor.
His indrawn breath halted her, pulling her gaze, although she’d been fighting herself not to stare at him. Short of turning her back fully, she couldn’t not look. He filled the room with his broad shoulders, deep chest, ridged belly and thighs that were roped with well-honed muscles. His powerful form was forever etched on her mind.
Never mind that hidden beneath the rim of the tub were his most disturbing attributes. Lord, the part that proclaimed him male was most impressive of all. Darker than his burnished skin, the long shaft shone like silky fabric with ridged blue veins mapping the surface. The rounded head, protruding from the cowl of his foreskin, was berry red.
That was the part he would insert into her woman’s furrow to till his crop of children—or so the cook had described the act. The woman had stumbled for a proper way to describe it, but Maddie had heard the coarse terms before. Swive. Fuck. Both made her cringe inside, so “tilling” it was.
Although how exactly he would till her field was never firmed in her mind. Every woman submitted to the tilling at one time or another. She’d survive. No matter that his “hoe” was quite large. Anne and Kate, the brazen hussies, had both seemed eager to fornicate with him.
Perhaps it diminished once it squeezed inside.

If you’ve been following me for long, you know my cowboys have a special place in my heart. Down in Texas was a labor of love from start to finish. Much of the description came from my own personal observations from my life in Texas. Enjoy! And good luck!

5 Angels and Recommended Read from Fallen Angels Reviews: “…one of the most decadent reads of the year for me…Delilah never fails to deliver on any front, and this is just another testament to an extraordinary writer. As always, I look forward to more of her extraordinary novels…”
4 Stars fom RT BOOKreviews: “Devlin delivers in this anthology of love in the Lone Star State… This is a good, hot and sexy read.”
From erotica superstar Delilah Devlin comes a sizzling hot story about a little town in Texas called Honkytonk, where the women get exactly what they want…and the men know just how to give it to them.
Wearing His Brand
Lyssa McDonough just got tangled up in a coil of barbed wire, and her clothes are ripped to shreds. Rancher Brandon Tynan to the rescue—but why is she so ornery? Hell, they’ll still have to share one horse to get home, Lyssa better hang on tight—she’s in for the wildest ride of her life…
Slow Ride
Maggie Dermott doesn’t know the first thing about horses and Daniel Tynan is more than willing to show her the ropes. His gentle ways melt her heart and his sensual passion burns away her inhibitions. Daniel takes the time to love her right.
Straight Up Soldier
Suki Reece needs protection and she can see that Mac McDonough has the muscle. Too bad he can’t stand taking orders from a woman. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Her daddy had always told her a man’s worth wasn’t measured by the size of his bank account or the square footage of his house. Rather, it could be seen in the proud set of his shoulders or a gaze that didn’t waiver.
Her mama had said a man’s strength was in his hands—strong and soothing when an animal or a child needed comfort—hot and wild when a woman needed shaking up.
Looking at Brand now, Lyssa McDonough knew exactly what they’d both meant.
If she had any sense at all she’d turn tail and run. Everything about the man screamed heartbreaker.
Only she couldn’t. Instead, she settled her shoulder against the fence post, kept her breaths shallow and even, and pretended she wasn’t melting inside.

Just got home a little while ago. Stayed at daughter’s because we got back from the concert so late. Woke up at 6:00 with the 5-year-old poking me to ask, “Hey, Nina, you awake?” Have some catchup to do (my desk is a mess) and a book to finish revising, but I have some pics—not very good ones, as you can see from this. But I’ll share more later!
In the meantime, here’s one of my favorite scenes from a book I’ve written. It’s from The Pleasure Bot, which released in June 2004. Romantic Time Magazine gave it a TOP PICK and said this about the story: “…Hot sex, sidesplitting humor and an out-of-this-world story set this erotica apart from the rest!”
This scene happens after Priss rented a pleasure bot for a weekend of hot sex, but fell in love with it. Now’s she’s desperate to save him from being turned in and having his memory wiped clean of their relationship. This scene picks up with Declan, who pretended to be her bot because he’s a pirate on the run from authorities. He’s rejoined his band of pirates and is heading back to his ship. Agnes is Priss’s AI computer, who’s meddling to make sure Priss gets what she needs…
“You haven’t said a word, since we picked you up.” Reiver executed a left turn onto the main thoroughfare; the next exit would take them to the docks.
“I’m just tired,” Declan said, staring out the window watching the dusty brown landscape rush past. He’d never noticed how dingy the air was in South Texas. Not a healthy place for Priss to raise a family.
“Not curious how we found the cargo Customs lifted from our hold?” Reiver asked.
“Sure.” Declan decided to try to get back into the swing of things and not look back. He could make himself crazy with regrets. He sighed and turned to his First Mate.
Reiver hadn’t been changed a jot by his adventure. The bloody sod was smiling!
“It’s quite a story. Your friend Agnes told us where the warehouse was—just so happens it belongs to McEwen.”
Declan grunted. He didn’t give a damn about that bastard McEwen or any stinking cargo. He’d just left his heart behind him in La Barria Prima with a certain little redhead who thought she was a lioness. Oh, she roared like one, even purred sometimes, but underneath she was soft and vulnerable as a kitten.
“—and little green Arkanthans were guarding the crates.”
“Huh?” Declan only caught the last of what Reiver said. Then he heard the men seated behind them snickering. He leveled a glare over his shoulder. “Unless you want to swab the upper deck, you’d better shut your yaps.” He rounded on Reiver, “What’s this you said about Arkanthans?”
Reiver didn’t reply. His gaze was on the rearview mirror. By the worried look in his eyes, Declan could tell he didn’t like what he saw.
He glanced over his shoulder, down the center aisle of their stolen hovervan. “We’ve got a tail. Lose it!” Declan said, feeling the welcome rush of adrenaline pump through his veins. If they wanted a fight…
“Captain, do Customs agents drive pink hovercars?” Nate asked.
“I think it’s more of a mauve,” Danny said.
Declan turned back again, just in time to see the car pass them at a high rate of speed—just long enough to catch a glimpse of a small white face above the steering wheel and a cap of red curls. “That little idiot! Is she trying to get herself killed?”
Priscilla pulled her car into the lane in front of them and her rear lights flashed red.
“Hit the brakes,” he bellowed.
The cars had barely skidded to a halt when he flung the door upward.
“I take it you know this person?” Reiver asked, laughter in his voice.
Declan stuck his head back inside. “Not one bloody word out of you.” When smothered laughter rang in the back of the van, he cast them a glare that should have singed.
As he stomped to Priscilla’s car, he heard Reiver say, “Guess we know what has him so grumpy.”
Declan reached the car, just as she lifted her door. “Oh, thank God, I found you in time!” She hurled herself into his arms and Declan took a step back to absorb the impact. “I thought I might be too late.” She hugged him hard around the middle, but never stopped her nervous babble. “First, I couldn’t find the right suitcase, then I didn’t know what to pack.” She pushed herself away from his chest, and her hands cupped his face. “I thought I might never see you again.”
For a moment, Declan’s heart was fiercely glad to see her. But then he realized what she’d just said. He pushed her away. “You’re not coming with me,” he shouted.
“No, I’m not.” She smiled, not caring his frown would make most men run for cover. “You’re coming with me. We’re escaping. Agnes has it all arranged. I even have a ship. She’s not the latest model of cruiser or very elegant, but she’s sturdy. You’ll love her!”
“You bought a ship?”
“No, silly! We’re stealing one.”
“We’re stealing a ship?” he parroted, dumbfounded by her audacity.
She looked beyond his shoulder, and her eyes widened. “Oh my God! There’s a whole vanload of Pleasure Bots!”

Here’s something a little different from me. Witch’s Choice released in September 2006. I’ve done very few books set in medieval times, Jacq’s Warlord and Her Lance-Alot are the only ones that come to mind, but I find them a lot of fun to write. I got the chance to play again with my upcoming release. On April 28th, a prequel to the My Immortal Knight stories set in medieval England releases. I can’t wait to see what you think! Until then, here’s a little taste.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
From Romance Junkies: “Delilah Devlin combines historical and paranormal elements and throws in a sexual element that will seduce even the pickiest reader…”
Two men…a wolf…and a witch.
Gisele, “The Witch of Grimoult”, has ended a long vow of celibacy taken to ensure her independence from any man. However, her new lover, Tibor the sheriff, isn’t any real threat. His reputation among the ladies assures her he won’t be a possessive man. After a wolf threatens her livelihood, she seeks aid from the new Lord Grim, never anticipating his price will be a night in his bed! What’s a maiden to do? Lord Grim’s possessive stare and fierce loving make her crave her captor and his mastery of her body. When the sheriff is bitten by the wolf, only her cure will save him from becoming a monster. Loving both men can’t be so wrong.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
“What was that?”
The sheriff lifted his head from her breast, his eyes and lips blurred and glistening with passion. “If you have to ask, then you must find me sadly lacking.”
Gisele swatted his shoulder. “Idiot! Outside. I thought I heard something.”
His lips twisted in an impatient frown. “A horse’s whinny. Likely Tiberion. He’s a greedy bastard and simply wants more oats.”
She pressed her fingers to his lips and listened.
Nothing.
Perhaps her stretched nerves had made her overly aware. “Shouldn’t we keep watch?” she suggested, although her heart wasn’t really in it. Her body screamed for the release his cajoling and ready cock had promised.
“The traps are set. There’s nothing more to do—but this!” he said, lowering his face once more and trapping her nipple between his lips.
“Who’s greedy now?” she moaned as he suckled, tugging the tip of her breast until it grew engorged and painfully sensitive.
