Okay, so maybe a better title would have been “happy songs” or “dance tunes”, but I’m sitting at my dd’s kitchen table watching the 13-year-old sweep the floor, and the quiet’s killing her, so I brought up You Tube and found this. Love Luis Fonsi! Remember “Despacito”?!
Yes, life’s hard for teenagers without something or someone entertaining them.
In steps grandmamá.
She’s smiling now. Give us some ideas for more tunes that will make us want to dance while we write…and sweep. 🙂
Leave a suggestion and you’ll be entered to win a download of your choice from among my vaaaasssst backlog.
This has not been a very productive week for me. I’ve been trying to catch up on things that got neglected at home while I was gone, plus I’m tired after all the running around. I need a vacation after my vacation!
So, I’m being lazy today. Hope you don’t mind. This morning, I could have been working, but my dear daughter was here giving my aunt a makeover for her Facebook photos. It was fun watching her work with all those brushes and paint. I really do think she could go professional—as a makeup artist and a portrait photographer. She thinks she doesn’t have any artistic talents of her own. Pffft! She’s amazing.
Anyway, me being lazy means me finding something I want to share. I’m loving this version of the Cranberries old song, “Zombie” as covered by Bad Wolves. So sad Dolores O’Riordan wasn’t able to lend her vocals to her iconic song. This version already has over 49 million views. Let’s add a few more. And tell me what you think!
Hint, hint! Guess where I’m going? Beach… State of origin of the artist who sings my favorite version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”… Still clueless?
Yes, Hawaii!!! Tomorrow morning at O-dark-thirty, I’ll be heading to the airport. I should be in Honolulu sometime mid-afternoon after losing hours due to the time zone changes. I dread the flights. But I’m sooo looking forward to the trip. It’s part business, part pleasure. I’ll sight-see while I’m there, but I’m also participating in a writer’s retreat, along with my sister, Elle James, Susan Stoker, and J. M. Madden. We’re planning on getting some serious words under our belts while we’re there.
Yeah. That’s the plan, anyway. We’ll see whether that beach just outside our window proves too much of a distraction. 🙂
While I’m away, I have writers scheduled to keep you entertained. Be sure to stop in and say hi! And I’ll post photos from Hawaii on my Facebook page!
While I’m away, remember, I have two complete cowboy series I recently released. If you haven’t read them, now’s the time… Just click on the covers!
In my neck of the woods, today’s going to be a scorcher. The kind of heat where you don’t bother with makeup and you wear those shorts, no matter how unflattering. Even the pool won’t be refreshing, because it’s going to feel like bath water. Bleh.
So, if you’re stuck inside, like me, and wondering what to do, I have two suggestions…
Find some new music. I’ll start you out with one of my favorite, latest finds. This is a group out of Iceland, of all places. If you like a bluesy tune with growling vocals, like I do, maybe you’ll love this, too! Listen, while you solve the puzzle below!
And after you solve this puzzle, maybe you’ll be tempted to read it! Do you like a funny, sweet, HAWT read when you’re stuck inside with nothing to do? Uh-huh, you’re welcome! ~ DD
Today, I’m busy putting the last polish on a collection due to come out next Tuesday, Blue Collar: A Boys Behaving Badly Anthology. It’s going to be a meaty short story collection, stuffed with 16 super-hot stories about those attainable, sexy everyday boys next door. Pre-order your copy now for just $0.99—that price will not last!
And while you’re placing your order, enjoy this song by Rag’n’Bone Man. The low, gritty beat and growling vocals are keeping me in my chair—yeah, I’m doing a little chair-dancing, while I edit. Love this track!
On my iPod, I have a playlist called “Happy Songs”. If I want to kick my ass into gear, especially in the mornings when I’d really rather sleep in, I click on the playlist, and before long I’m tapping a toe, then “mattress-dancing”—and then, there’s no goin’ back to sleep. I’m up and smiling.
Only problem is, my happy list is pretty darn short. I’d love your suggestions for more songs to add! And because I’m serious, I’ll give away a small Amazon Gift Card to one lucky, happy-suggester!
Just comment for a chance to win!
Here’s one song already on my “Happy Songs” playlist!
